Shocking music that your partner/ex/whatever likes

i dunno why people find it so funny that there might be some good Japanese reggae. is it any more unlikely than good reggae from anywhere else?

Audio Active made some great tunes, and i've heard Japanese reggae comps that are great. Indeed, people like Neil from Zion Train spend a lot of time on the Japanese roots sound system scene..

There also seemed to be a suggestion in Firky's post that UB40 where bad reggae because they were white - which is nonsense.

Yeah they have done some rubbish - and they have done a neat line in old Jamaican standards. But their first two albumns rank up there with the greats of reggae.

Musical styles move around the world and are picked up by different people. I would rather listen to Jap reggae all day than an hour of routine 'Jah rastafari' blandness from the 70s.

My ex loved Phil collins :eek: :eek: as for Savage Henry well there are some things in his music collection that shouldnt even be allowed to exist pure noise in a lot of cases.

We were listening to something the other day that sounded like the modem was dialing up i asked him to change it to something soothing, i got something that sounded like a one man band being chucked down 25 flights of stairs whilst clutching a small dog! :eek: :mad:

I have shite taste in music :)

My Good Lady Wife has pretty good taste in my opinion and it was one of the things that attracted me.

However, she did go through a clubbing phase and listened to a lot of hard house which I think is really boring.

Mrs IHB is a musical facist and has far superior taste and knowledge to me. In actual fact it is occasionally my tastes that annoy her........

I did get her addicted to Jeff Mills and Ritchie Hawtin though so will take credit for that :cool:

okay so not a partner or anything, but my best friend from uni had (and still has) the worst taste in music EVER.....

Her favourites are:
Celine Dion :eek: :eek: (especially My heart will go on)
and
Lianne Rianes :eek: (how will i live without you)

She even had them played at her wedding reception a few months ago.

Mrs B's taste is usually impeccable but when it goes wrong, it goes really fucking badly wrong:

Seal
<billy_bob weeps>
Sade
<billy_bob vomits>
Rush
<billy_bob circumcises self with rusty hacksaw just to have something else to think about>

Yeah. What he said. I love Audio Active. They came down the Dub Club one night. Couldn't speak hardly a word of English, just grinned and nodded a lot. They seemed to have a good time anyway though :D

Epona has a secret stash of Rainbow and Yngwie Malmsteen albums :eek:
Otherwise her taste is pretty good- mainly metal, ska and classical :)

Keane..... :confused: :rolleyes: arguably even whinier and more loathsome than both Coldplay and Radiohead combined. After all what bunch of utter c**tmugs would call their band after the lead 'singers' nanny. :mad:

missuz santa like that fucking Babyshambles mob and swoons over the Doherty.

She'll be swooning over a fat lip if it continues, i tell thee. :mad:
