shittest festival tent ever in the world.

A friend of mine, also at Glasto 2007, had a tent that was about 6 foot long but only two foot wide and less than two foot high. It was basically a canvas coffin.

Though I personally feel the most mickey taking is deserved by the peeps who pitch next to portaloos, in valleys etc.

Tent positioning is vitally important when camping, yes.

You don't put your tent in a valley if possible, pitching it on a slope isn't advisable, under trees can be downright dangerous and under a floodlight isn't great either.

The single worst camping experience I ever had was during a Trident Ploughshares camp in Plymouth. We were on a slope of at least 30-35 degrees, it was lumpy as hell and there was a rabbit warren underneath us which led to a mate of mine being eaten alive by fleas. Millions of them.

I escaped with only 30 hours of sleep during a six day camp and was involved with running the camp while being half asleep the whole time. Joyful, it wasn't.

Oh, and it rained, incessantly, to the point where my feet turned white and hurt simply to stand on (I was a twat and thought trainers were decent footwear for rough camping at the time).

Not an experience I'd wish to repeat.

That tent is classic, had me in fits! Not wishing to brag or advertise or anything, but I've now got a Eurohike Mach III Blackout tent, so sounds like another attack helicopter, but it is fantastic, sleeps 3, but only two of us use it, well big, is a proper pop up and really blocks the light out, which is my big bug bear with camping, not being able to sleep after the sun comes up... More crap tents, pleeeeeease!
