I understand your predicament totally. I have been contracting in networking for quite a while limited company etc. and now this year and essentially haven't been working since the beginning of this year at all. I am panicking about my VAT bill for there was some work done in this VAT quarter albeit a few weeks and Im not sure if I will have all my corp tax to be processed as I have had to dip into this to keep looking for work etc. Phone costs etc. etc.
I could take up a perm role but the bills of business and my lovely ex with court costs for access to my daughter for no reason other than she is on legal aid and is making residential access drag for a year now has completely crippled me. Emotionally financially and mentally. Coupled with a broken finger not correctly set by the NHS and then having to have it PRIVATELY re-broken so that I would not lose it has taken its toll and then some...
Im not sleeping at all at night Im completely fucked financially and the arse has dropped on contract rates even for high end skilled network professionals with experience that its simply not economical to take up the scraps flying about. as the outgoing commuting etc versus income would still move towards the negative....
I would seek to speak to the CEO if he is a reasonable man and see if you can work something out it might be best in the longer run for if you come to some arrangement you can at least get some money with the possibility that you could maintain repeat business if you are kept in "good light" so to speak with those whom take up hiring even if they move on.
I mention this only because in these times everyone is suffering in business and trying to maintain relationships can help you over burning bridges.
