The other look I'm trying to avoid is the long leather trench coat, cowboy hat, walking stiffly with hands behind the back goth look. It's a minefield.

are probabley worth a look. They do lots of vaguely cool gothicy, metal things and are decent quality tees.

You might struggle to find them in this country though and are ridiculously expensiveunless yu can find one on ebay.
