Why does that affect union membership? Why aren't they all in RMT?

Even if they are RMT (some are in those companies) they can't do a solidarity strike by law. The dispute is between LUL RMT members and LUL. Tubelines workers can't walk out over it any more than Tesco workers can.

Hige crowd at the bus stop at Paddington (the one they featured on loads of news reports yesterday) but was lucky to be standing in the right place when a 27 arrived, also as it was only going to Warren Street fewer people got on.

Was able to get a seat and then chugged along slowly and arrived at work about 15 mins later than normal so all in all not too bad.

this strike is overrated. I caught a half-full bus to the station, the train to London Bridge took ten minutes and got the Jubilee line to North Greenwich with no problems.

1hour20mins, but the REALLY bad news is the brand new ticket barriers now 'live' at Thornton Heath. bugger, I can't fleece TFL as usual.:o

Leisurely (well, close to 2 hr) journey on the 91 from Crouch End - Trafalgar Square. All sorts getting on and off, but there was gridlock hell from Euston to Kingsway, and then on The Strand. Saw a fella getting released from Pentonville nick with a garbage bag too.

Same with me at Tulse Hill - can't jump on the Thameslink in the morning (don't bother walking back from HH in the evening, but it means I now loose 20 mins in bed, grrrr)

15 mins on the bike in the morning (no change there then)

20 mins back this pm cos of headwind - also sun came out to light up my way home:cool:

I haven't been to the office yet today.

The other day, I had a triumph. I was going to head out on the 91, but luckily I listened to the traffic station, and they told me that a semi had overturned, just past the Knight exit. I was able to take the Knight exit just in time, head over the Knight bridge, and continue my journey unhampered on Marine Way. :)

i woke up well early, and got up at about 6, left at 6.30, drive from Hackney to West hampstead, only took 40 minutes, so i had time a leisurely breakfast at Rose's cafe on the Finchley road :)

NO WAY I'm always going to that cafe.
