Moonpig has a meeting in Milton Keynes today so lent her my car.

She left Brixton at 7:30 and is now on Chelsea Bridge.. wtf?! I even lent her my Sat Nav!

Some Sat Navs would take you that way (Chelsea Bridge, Thames bank, Earls Court, A40, hanger lane, A501, M1)

Rode to work as usual, Hackney to Warren Street. Loads more traffic about and more taxis dangerous cutting into the cycle lanes to avoid. Apart from that the odd pedestrian running out from between stationary vehicles....all in all not much different to any other day.

^^ That is the route I would take and told her to take.

The Sat Nav told her to go towards Vauxhall Bridge

That's a perfectly acceptable route too, but you have to do one or the other.

Just check she hasn't gone into the C charge by mistake- it's very easy on that route!

I got up half an hour early. I got on the Number 4 bus like what I always do and it was fine, just more crowded than usual. I read my book, got a seat upstairs, walked from St Paul's, it was nice.:)

planet-murderer

it's the first time I've driven to work in about 5 years, and needed to whether there was a tube strike or not as I have to get down to bath this evening for a funeral tomorrow - and i'm taking 3 relations, two of which I haven't seen since 1980 :D

Not too bad - lots more people at my bus stop, took a bit longer than usual, only had to sit on the stairs for half the journey.

Can't wait for all these wierd tube types to get orf my buuuusss though!

I got up, went downstairs, did a couple of hours work, sent the invoice, and came to visit Urban. Might go for a walk later.

hah hah, you london folk 'oh noes teh tube strike'

welcome to the muthafuckin bus, bitches!

Only...loads of us already take the bus at some point in the morning, and as pointed out, most of us have had an easy journey in.

More people ride the buses in London than take the tube anyway...the tube is just more convenient most of the time...

The M11 was a bit jam-packed as a lorry had broken down on the Northbound carriage. Traffic was way back to the Duxford, casusing a bit of a delay.

But worst of all, there seemed to be people driving who seemed to think the speed limit on a clear open road was 15 mph.

I got on a 333 at 8am as usual at the top of Brixton Hill, and there were 2 people on the bus.

In fact, it wasn't until we got to Elephant that the bus was even half full.

Then we hit the congestion, and crawled all the way to the end of my journey, I arrived 10 minutes late, far earlier it seemed than most here did.

I was going to walk in from Angel to Waterloo, but I found the tube was running and I got the Northern Line and Jubilee lines with no trouble. Cheers scabs!

Cheers scabs!

Surely they aren't scabs in the traditional sense - just tube workers who aren't striking?

Aren't scabs people drafted in to cover for those who are striking. Do they have "bank" tube drivers then? Doesn't seem likely...

My journey to work began by leaving the flat, sauntering on down to Stockwell tube, getting on a tube train, sitting there reading the Metro for a bit, getting off tube train at Old Street, walking the remaining 2 minutes to work.

Epic.

I gave up waiting for a 205 on the Mile End Road to have any space on it and am back in my jarmas now
