An interesting fact about Shampoo; they predated the Spice Girls by a few months and one of their post-"Trouble" singles, which I think actually bettered it, was called "Girl Power", which the media of course picked up on as a concept and the biggest musical phenomenon of the 90s was given a slogan. Thus Shampoo can be classed as highly influential.

Also worth searching out is Carter USM's cover of "Trouble" which whilst probably not beating the original is a damn good listen all the same.

I didn't actually say that the Spices were better than Shampoo. I think both were pretty ace, but I don't think even their own mothers would say that Shampoo were as big a sensational as the Spice Girls. The Spices were actually created independently by a father and son team and then poached by the more mainstream financially powerful Simon Fuller and his 19 company. We're not using this thread to descend into a anti-corporate slanging match.
