let's just say i wouldn't stick my head in your mouth before lunch

best way. the only breakfast i eat is the breakfast of champions, and i don't brush me teef afterwards.

Shampoo were fab  and had nice skirts. I have their album and it contains many shamefully ignored classic anthems, Kinky Ken being a particular favourite. I heard that they were working for Melody Maker or the NME and were asked to make a novelty band but then I've heard that about Daphne and Celeste as well. Wow-what a fab band that would make, daphne and celeste meet shampoo :o  :)

if anyone has a copy of trouble on vinyl they'd like to donate i'll give you 50p and a pint for it.

i've got their album on vinyl. well actually, teen tanky has, i gave it to her. she'll need much more than 50p and a pint to part with it though.

If someone could send me an MP3 of the wondrous Shampoo, I'd be delighted to play it at the Offline Christmas party!

Latecomer to this thread but I would add my vote to the ace camp. I think "Trouble" was even out-done by its successor, "Girl Power" which indirectly coined a phenomenon when the Spice Girls released "Wannabe" a couple fo months later.

I was at a wedding with Jacqui a few weeks ago.

She's still jolly well and retains a vague connection with the biz.

I always wondered what happened to them, they really did disappear without a trace after Absolute Shampoo. They used to have a great website as well at shampoo.org.uk which now redirects to someone called Neil Kemp and his family photos!

Shampoo started off as a punk band - they released a couple of singles which were quite good if I remember.
Then I presume some record company executive must have got hold of them, all the band went, apart from the two singers, and the rest, as they say, is *cough* history.

I recently bought Absolute Shampoo off eBay for £22. I consider that a result because last time a copy came up there, it went for £40.

It's OK but when you listen to it you feel like you're listening to a real piece of history, dunno why! Maybe it's because it was an internet only release (unusual for 2000) at the end of their career, and they knew their time was up.

Most of the album was written by Stanley/Wiggs of St Etienne too.
