You know, I think Joe is one of the very few characters in Shameless ever to be so totally despicable. There is another series after this one, two according to my lass, so we'll see if he stays in and what they do with him if he does

Joe isn't interesting enough to keep around – he'll either be "disappeared" or scared off for good (until he returns unexpectedly next series).
It's set in the North West, it's on Channel 4 with the next episode straight after on E4, and that surely is where the similarities end.
Brookie done for laughs maybe, but not Hollyoaks.
i think it's lost it a bit this series - increasingly ridiculous storylines,shoehorning daft sex scenes into every episode for the sake of it -but it's still probably the best thing on TV. And the whole Joe-Karen plot is dragging on a bit now, i wish he'd just tell Jamie and Jamie can beat him to death and Mickey can take the rap cos he's a decent lad really and his copper mate'll get him off and they can all move on.

Though it will be a shorter run next year. Stretching it out to 16 episodes this year wasn't a good idea.

I love Shameless. When you compare it to the bilge they show down here (neighbours!!!) its of the scale.
I also think its picked up a bit this series (if I'm watching the same series as you, Paddy's been kidnapped by someones mother and is tied to a bed and being fed drugs).

Don't spoil it -we still have 2 episodes to watch
I liked how Mandy's death brought about a more convincing representation of feelings and emotions in the whole paddy/mimi situation. Until now have found it a bit weird that after bigging up how amazing their relationship was in the last series that their characters seemed so 2d and a bit shitty in this series. Didn't seem realistic.
