Not completely on topic, but I'm reminded of the bit from the series about Medieaval Britain where the narrator recounted a court transcript.
A woman was trying to get her marriage annulled on the basis that her husband was small of size and impotent. To prove this, he was made to reveal himself in court, and then she stripped her top off and fondled his parts, and he was made to fondle her breasts, to no avail, his manhood refused to budge. The woman was granted her annullment.
Personally I reckon the poor were just as liable to indulge in kinks and perversions as any toff, just different kinds - hell man, I reckon even going back to h-g groups you'd get some man or woman realising at an early age that they liked being smacked, or needed to be wearing stinking, rotting meat.
