Sex and the City: What did you reckon then? (Spoilers allowed)

This is a film now? I can't believe they have made this into a film and not really mentioned it. There has been no advertising at all for it. Has it gone from cinemas yet? I hope not. I am really surprised with such a popular TV show and making it into a film they would have really pushed the boat out with advertising it. You know, posters, side of buses, advertising on websites, TV adverts on every channel, talk shows. What a shame, it could have made so much money....

Don't women find it hard enough convincing men they've got anything going on between our ears as it is, without being defined by this vacuous, asinine sh*te....I'm pretty sure the vast majority of us can tell the difference between this low-rent, vapid corporate approved wank and reality, though the ironic thing is, is that for all it's self appointed feminist worthiness, the very fact that its producers assume all women aspire to the f*ckwittery espoused in this show is misogyny defined.;)

this is a joke, right? right? there's been a deluge of advertising. so this has to be a joke.

i cried nearly all the way through it, but i don't how much of that was because i've just broken up with my boyfriend!! watching the series would've made me feel better but the film seemed to make me feel worse!

i loved carrie bashing big with the flowers and then charlotte shouting at him 'NO!!'

that was cool

Yeah, I had to find back the tears a little bit at that scene. I felt so sorry for the both of them!

But..... he tried to call her, many, many times and in his message said that he just needed to talk to her first and didn't want to walk in alone. A bit weak but understandable.
He's been married twice, it hasn't worked. He loves Carrie but is freaked out by the huge wedding and is worried that he and Carrie won't be the same after the wedding. To compound this Miranda spouts her mouth off at the dinner.

Then, he drives away, barely gets down the street and then realises what an idiot he's been so he goes back.
Carrie had every right to be devastated but I think it's right that they got back together. :)

I thought the Miranda storyline was great and the bit on the bridge was just lovely as was the bit when Carrie goes to Miranda on NYE.

I can understand disappointment about Samantha not being her old self but by the end of the series she had changed. She'd survived cancer, fallen in love and although it would have been fun to see her shagging all over Manhattan but that would have betrayed what she had with Smith and I'm glad it ended how it did for them.

I thought that Samantha should have gone back after finishing with Jared and shagged the neighbour. :D That would have signified the return-ish of the old sam. She didnt even get any sex scenes did she? :hmm:

It wasnt great great, but enjoyed it nonetheless.

I thought it was too long - it lacked the snappiness of the TV programmes. It was a bit too overly sentimental too. I agree with most of the other criticism on here so far. That being said, it was a nice evening out and I enjoyed looking at all the mad dresses and shoes.

i thought you were a bloke.

This film is utter rubbish and I'm not going to do anything as daft as actually watch it just to strengthen that opinion.

I knows it whiffs.

i've never seen a film create such a negative reaction that people feel the need to go on a thread which they KNOW is about said film just to say 'yeah uh, it's shit innit, yeah'

well fuck off then you loser with too much time on your hands.

Oh per-lease!

You think you'd have to watch every Rambo/Chuck Norris film, every edition of 'Top Gear' before you know its bloke's rubbish?

Sure it generally pays to know what you are talking about before you comment - but it doesn't stop any of us!

What is the best SITC could be? A bit of light soap with a wadge of product placement. Nothing evil about that, fine if people want to enjoy it, but it ain't going to be a classic is it? ;)

still have to watch/listen to something to actually have an informed opinion though, eh?

Well I have, but just not the fillum.

but the film might have had some deep and meaningful philosophical arguments about existential crises brought about by the collapse of haute couture in it. but you wouldn't have known that, would you, clever dick, cos you thought you knew everything about it :p

I'm prepared to take that chance...yes.

Did it then? :D

  Funny how people can comment that the film is rubbish without seeing it first

One doesn't need to smash oneself in the face with a brick to know it will hurt.

If a band you hate release a new album, do you listen to it in case all of a sudden they're good?
