Thanks for your feedback, was worried I was going to suffer the indignity of 100 views and no replies!
I'm looking at 3 hour classes in basic sewing, pattern cutting, etc at peak times to pay the bills, plus some drop in sessions and also some grant funded projects for people who can't afford it. (I'm currently working on a project with refugee women, which is going really well.)
Boohoo - Creative clothesmaking - well, nothing too fancy, but I'm hoping to steer people away from making boring black trousers i.e. something a bit different and unique. I'm on the hunt for cheap but spacious premises, which would allow me to offer studio time to the more expert, but I think the rent will be more easily paid by classes for beginners. Anyway, plan is for somewhere not too smart, probably a little chaotic, but warm, colourful, inspiring space!
Pip/Spanglechick - I've been on the pattern course at Morley, this and their dressmaking courses are always oversubscribed, so I think there is the demand. It's also a pretty small room and they won't let you drink tea and sew, so something a bit more relaxed might be welcome.
I am a keen amateur sewer, but not a professional. I come from a business background, so if anyone is interested in working with me in any way, please PM me.
