Settlers attack villagers, burn crops

According to neo-Nazis, Jews beat each other up and blame it all on white people.

There is a striking similarity between what our Zionist friend says and those you have mentioned....but then, he did confess an admiration for fascism, claiming that it was nothing but a love of one's country. :hmm:

Spion: "Spion only cares that people living there have equal rights.": Finally!!! We agree!!! I suggest then that you acquaint yourself with the Israeli Basic Law. That should give you some peace of mind at least.

Nino: This number is fictitious...": Well Nino, it depends, are we talking about the entire population of Arabs that surrounds Israel, or just those nations directly bordering it? If we just talk about the nations bordering Israel, you might have an argument because in that case the figure, as of 2007, is a mere 110 million rounded off including the PA and Gaza. If we talk en masse it is almost 700 million.

Here are the figures since you are such a stickler for accuracy (sic):

Egypt: 80,335,036

Lebanon:3,925,502

Syria: 16, 137, 899

Jordan: 6,053,193

Gaza: 1,482,405

"West Bank": 2,354,741

All figures pretain to an Arab League compiled census formulated in July, 2007, save Syria which did not comply and as a result its figure is current as of the 1997 census. I also purposely omitted the figure for Israeli-Arabs which would have given almost another 2 million so yeah, you MIGHT have an argument.

If I can be of any further help Nino, please do not hesitate to ask.

And those that lived there waaaay before the state of Israel existed.

It seems to have been a consequence of the war. It happened elsewhere, in much larger numbers, but no one seems to make a fuss about those displacements.

The expulsion of Germans after World War II refers to the forced migration and ethnic cleansing of German nationals (Reichsdeutsche) and ethnic Germans (Volksdeutsche) from Germany and parts of territory formerly claimed by Germany in the first three years after World War II.

The policy was one of a number of expulsions in various Central and Eastern European countries which displaced and relocated a number of nationalities in addition to the Germans. Stalin had made the westward shift of borders part of his demands and these had been acceded to by the U.S. and the U.K. Initially, the U.S. and the U.K. saw the expulsions as necessary to create ethnic homogeneity and to suppress ethnic violence originating from expansion of Germans towards the East. All three Allies had agreed to the policy of the expulsions, and the Soviet Union implemented the policy with U.S. and British acquiescence.[1] The policy had been agreed to by the Allies as part of the reconfiguration of postwar Europe. [2]

As the Red Army advanced towards Germany at the end of World War II, a considerable exodus of German refugees began from the areas near the front lines. Many Germans fled their areas of residence under vague and haphazardly implemented evacuation orders of the Nazi German government in 1943, 1944, and in early 1945, or based on their own decisions to leave in 1945–1948. Others remained and were later forced to leave by local authorities. However, in no East European nation were all ethnic Germans forced to leave. Census figures in 1950 place the total number of ethnic Germans still living in Eastern Europe at approximately 2.6 million, about 12 percent of the pre-war total.[3]

The majority of the flights and expulsions occurred in Czechoslovakia, Poland and the European Soviet Union. Others occurred in territories of northern Yugoslavia (predominantly in the Vojvodina region), and other regions of Central and Eastern Europe.

The total number of the Germans expelled after the war remains unknown, as most of the past research provided a combined estimate, including those that were evacuated by German authorities, fled or were killed during the war. By some accounts[who?], this forced migration of ethnic Germans resulted in the transfer of between 13.5-16.5 million people and was the largest of several similar post-World War II migrations orchestrated by the victorious Big Three Allied powers.

Canuck: Good point but to be honest it was not codified until Geneva IV in 1949. Prior to this agreement Ethnic Cleansing as it is so often called now, as opposed to Transfer which is what it used to be known as, was part and parcel of war.

People today have a difficult time imagining Italy pre Garibaldi, Poland before Stalin and Hitler, and so on. Nations as such are a modern invention and to make any sense there had to be a marked shift in demographics and yes, noone really bemoaned it until Geneva IV.

In Israel though, people remaining ignorant of a couple of pertinent facts. First off, Trans-Jordan (later to be known simply as Jordan, post 1976) took 87% of the total Mandate in 1922 when the Brits illegaly created it. Its population is almost totally "Palestinian" with the remainder being Bedua who refuse to identify themselves as one Arab group or another, apart from Bedua.

With Israel Proper, most Arabs chose to leave and in LAusanne in 1949, in the 49 Armisitice Mediations Israel , nbefore the issue of Refugees was even introduced, offered to accept 100,000 Arabs in one fall swoop with more groups to follow. Big Suprise!!! Arabs refused but did accept the money offered.

Then Israel iniated its Kin Reunification Program which existed from 1950 until 1970 and ended up bringing in almost 400,000 Arabs who by then called themselves "Palestinians."

So much propaganda it is sickening. Wonder what Spion will answer when I ask how many of the more than 1 million Jewish Refugees from Arab Lands have ever been offered repatriation or reperation? Care to comment Spion?

I will comment for you though. Gen. Ass. Res. #181? The opne you asked about? You are correct, since it was General Assembly it meant nothing in legal tersm EXCEPT that since it was under the supervision of a ofrieng power (UK) at the behest of the UN it happend to mean EVERYTHING. In light of a vote that was 2/3rds in favour of the Partition, it was above board and binding. It could have been suspended pending outcome of a Security Council Resolution but then nobody iniated any, did they? Ergo, no leg to stand on.

Nothing like ramming home the image of "a people under seige" -eh?

Nino: You raised an issue, got handed your pants, and then try and offer a rebuttal consisting of nothing but a personal insult. How original, how passe. Now back to the thread please.
