September S&B?

Doubt I will make it now due to not being very well (count me out for the meal anyway). Will have to go to the shop another time!

Booo!!!! X 100

I hope you haven't got what I've had. 10 days later and I'm still not right.

Sorry - not terribly encouraging really is it?!?

It seems like the shop is going to be a good place and the impression I get is that they're happy to have people just hang out there and knit (without necessarily buying anything) - if that does turn out to be the case, there's no reason why we can't have another meet there at a date that's good for you! :)

toggle - did you see my post about the sander? I'm all sorted now (so one less thing for you to carry) ;)

station you need is Vauxhall (overground or underground) :)

Ok, so I'll only be carrying stuff home.:D

erm, checks tube map. ok,

hopefully I won't get lost

Got a text from Choc to remind us that she is coming to Bonningtons + 1.

It's 8pm we're booked for Bonningtons right?

What time are people gonna get to I-knit at?

Once I've finished painting the spare room - you should see me now.. I am literally covered in paint. The postman had to knock to give me a parcel and actually burst out laughing when he saw me... :D - I'm going to make my shopping list.. got quite a number of baby items to knit for various shag happy friends...

I've got wry's jam. She is coming isn't she? I don't want to carry them to Offline too!

Yes she is... it's a turnout extraordinaire!!!

We need a cardboard cutout of Ruby to make it complete.

Just had a call from Dimples...

she's gonna be there quite early as she finishes work at 4pm in Vauxhall.

So if anyone is there early look out for her - (if you don't already know her she is short and thin, dark haired, very pretty - but you'll hear her before you see her.... :D Northern accent, swears a lot.. :D )

Lots of :D s.

I made a good call on not coming as I'm having a highly hectic time (bloody unorganised university). *sigh*

Have a wicked time. :)

Do you think we should hold it at the new shop:

http://www.iknit.org.uk/iknitlondonshop.html

If we do do it on the Thursday 28th (which is looking quite likely) we could meet at this:

"Thursday
you be the DJ
(6pm-8pm)

Bring along your iPod, five tunes and plug in (dancing is optional)"

That looks brilliant!

We might pop along to a bit of this too

Bonnington Square rocks!

Hey Ruby - get well soon mate, hope to see you soon.

What a lovely little shop, and the owners were really friendly too... definitely going back there... might be a good stop for a cuppa on the way home from work :)

BOO!

nope, didn't work?

drink water upside down (not you upside down, just your head)... works every time for me ;)

aaargh...... oooh - they've stopped!!

Thanks! :D

Had a well good night!

But have to sit a placement test tomorrow which will determine my language level for the rest of the year.... :(

oops.... :D

No... it was lovely and a great place to meet. We all sat in a circle - they've made it REALLY comfy - lots of chairs, sofas and bean bags, very good lighting and loads of really nice yarn and the most beautiful needles. The guy in there made us tea and joined in chatting and is just really lovely - gave me some good advice too. I thought it was really lovely and I think we should hold more of our meetings there tbh!! :)

that was ACE. the shop is brilliant one of the owners immediatly joined us knitting a bright pink baby jumper/wrap/dress kind of piece and i have to say that has impressed me no end. in fact he was our first proper male knitter yet!!

i was rather pleased also to be entertained by my very own slection of great music for the lack of i-pods in the dj your own i-pod themed knitting night shop. ;)

i have enjoyed every piece of conversation i had as well even if it was short. the bonnington cafe is such a nice institution as well. the food helping was a bit to small for me but nevertheless extremly delicious. i wished that at that point i wasn't so tipsy already in which case i would have gone for a tarot reading upstairs.

and as usual as a result of our meeting i am well into my knitting again.

It was lovely to see everyone albeit briefly.

Wished I could have stayed at Offline for longer, but I was seriously tired.

Am hoping to pop in the shop & start a new project next time I am in Vauxhall.

Can anyone recommend a decent book / website with easy peasy patterns for a novice knitter? I loved knitting when I was younger but it's been a good 20 years since I picked up a pair of needles. I've just got myself a dirt cheap set of needles off ebay and am eager to get started. Something like a scarf would be ideal.

Have a look at Debbie Stoller's Stitch and Bitch.
