September S&B?

Well after all that my little sister is coming down from the north with a mate of hers so I may not be able to come unless she wants to come to a knitting meet up - I really don't know her feelings on this yet!

I have to say I do resent the implication that I hadn't checked with others.. I thought I made it perfectly clear that it could be either at the shop or at mine. It's really quite hard to keep everyone happy with these things and I do think I try my hardest to do so. If anyone doesn't want to kick up a fuss on the thread there's always pms!

I wasn't specifically addressing that point to you and I wasn't implying that you hadn't checked with others - it was a general "can we think about this before rushing into an oooh yay let's all go out for dinner" thing, because it does sound like a nice idea but it would be a bit miserable for anyone that couldn't afford to come. I'm sorry if that's unreasonable.

ok.. well I guess it was because you made the comment whilst quoting me and my question about whether you could make it and since it was me that suggested the shop and dinner thing - it felt like it was aimed at me specifically.

But apology accepted. :D

Can someone else please make the decision about what to do? I feel in a bit of a no-win situation right now.

Thanks
:)

Is S&B generally knitting then? I guess knitting is quite portable. I also see you've done fruit picking and jam making.

Basically I'm interested. I first thought it would be stitching like sewing though (I'm starting to sew you see, as yet with no machine). I don't knit. I used to attempt crochet (when I was 11) but never quite got the hang of doing more than just a really long line. :o

Shall I start again?
Hi. What's the deal with all this? Open to all? Or held in someones home and so need screening first? Could I come and be generally quiet and new and just do lots of crap sewing?

Then of course there's the whole crappy health issue that I can't even commit myself beforehand as I might feel crap on the day...

How about we stick to your house as originally planned, and do the shop/Bonningtons at a later date with more notice for everyone? :)

I can drop by with wrysmile's jam and say hello and stay for a drink with my sis and her mate - I think there's an offline on and they might like that so we'll head on there after.

Shit.. I forgot about offline that night...:o

isn't that going to put spanners in the works all over the place...

Sortit out and let me know. The price for a meal dosen't seem that high and my travel won't be any more than usual, so it's really not any costlier for m if I keep my hands in my pockets in the yarn shop. If we don't do the shop next week, lets sort out anothr time to go and do the cafe as well. I'd love to do a weekend lunch trip if you're upo for that.

Right now, I'm just pleased with myself for deciding on an end to the great rowan cork debacle. This is the third project that i've started with it, and hopefully the last. it is becoming a dress for the small and stinky one and maybee some sort of shrug or wrap if there's enpough yarn left over.

Eme. Biddly, Toggle; PieEye; Zora; Wrysmile

This seems to be the final numbers for next Thursday's meet.

I think that we're all happy to go to the shop and Bonningtons but have now decided to stay at home anyway..........

You'd be very welcome to come along and sew. S&B means stitch and bitch but actually lots of people don't like that name and really we're a craft club - hence the jam making/calligraphy/crochet etc etc. Don't worry about not being able to commit due to health. If you're up for it on the day just come along - at least I'm fine with that when it's at mine. :)

If we're all happy... then lets do it! (Bonningtons food is lush :o)

Oh, and drag0n's a possibility too ^ :)

Everyone seems to be happy to do it - so why don't you go to the shop and Bonningtons? I should be able to do the meal with my sister and her mate, depending on what time you get there but I can't do the shop as well as I'll be gathering them off their trains so I'll play it by ear on the night. We will eat and then bugger off to see what's happening at Offline on the way home.

Does that work? :D

<applies cold compress to GG>

iknit are open from 4-9pm on Thursday - I'll probably just go straight from work (is only 1 minute away)... so I'll see you there :)

It's probably worth booking for Bonningtons - last few times I've been have been pretty busy and we've just about ben squeezed in. I'm happy to do this - say for around 8pm? I'll book a table for 10: eme, toggle, PieEye + 2, zora, wrysmile, gaijingirl, drag0n and me.

Thanks you two..

still got very stinky cold but less achey today and hopefully getting less grumpy.... :D

That all sounds fab!

Oop. Don't book me! I'll sit this one out but it's nice to know I'm welcome so can psych myself up properly for next time. :)

You sure? If you're not feeling up to it on the day they won't mind if we're one less at Bonningtons :)

Excellent - thanks PieEye :) - mmmm, jam.... mmm.... Bonningtons.... could it be that I'm more food-focussed than knitting-focussed? Surely not... :D Looking fwd to it.

Next week Thursday 28th. Meet at new knitting shop in Bonnington Square 6pm onwards and then dinner at Bonningtons 8pm.

GG :)

I'm all about the new knitting shop. But not all about dinner as I'm skint. But that's ok cos you've already booked so everything is lovely once more.

*waves*

I've not done any knitting in almost a year, but I'd like a new project, so can I come too pretty please?:)
