Separate loo/bathroom

I just dream of the day when I can afford to live in a place with 2 loos. Ah, the luxurious extravagance *looks wistfully up to the sky*

My (single) sister had two loos in her h/a house. And only one her!

Meanwhile here we struggle bravely on with only one crapper and three of us (two of whom are in nappies too!!)

Toilet envy. :o

Cloo, why are you doing major work on a place you rent, isn't that a bit of a waste of money, time and effort?

e2a: never mind, read an earlier post by you properly.

My (originally council) flat has a seperate loo and bathroom. Works out quite well with three of us living here. Luckily the times we get up and go out during the day are quite staggered so there's no rush on the bathroom in the mornings.

If you just have the one bathroom with a toilet in it, you'd never get to have a nice long bath :(

I don't have baths, only showers, but Mr Paw manages to have hour-long baths regularly. It's quite simple. He says "I'm going for a bath, you need the loo?" I say "Yes" I go to loo He gets in bath Soaks for an hour or more I don't need the toilet again because unless I'm drinking a litre of water every 10 minutes I can pretty much go without pissing for over an hour. I'm everso advanced.

But what if you develop the need to wee or poo within the hour, have you ever pooed while he bathed and if so could you please decribe it in detail. :)

ive got a bath and loo in one room and the sink in another. only got one loo, unless you count Polly's litter tray :D

I don't think I've ever seen a house without a toilet in the bathroom
The first time I saw one was a flat gsv rented a few years ago. I guess I wasn't used to the idea, as I'd grown up in a house with two bathrooms and one downstairs loo, and most houses I knew had a separate loo downstairs, but bathrooms with loos upstairs.

Christ that's toilet greed. :eek::mad::p

I think loo in the bathroom and an extra loo. If there's room :)

Otherwise those tiny loos are a nightmare - my council flat had one and it used to get really stinky and there's no room for a potty.

Two bathrooms and a downstairs loo? Not normal where I'm from :hmm:

Nor me.....

and my HA flat has only one small bathroom with everything in it but no shower !

I ask if anyone need the loo before i have a bath.....not a problem !

Don't understand all this sudden need for loadsa bathrooms, en-suites etc......it didn't used to be a requirement.......we are all getting way too spoilt !

Indeed. :D Our house, like all of the others on this street, requires you to walk through one of the bedrooms to get to the bathroom, where the loo is. We only invite very close friends to stay :D

Stop moaning the lot of you! :D

When I lived in London I had a friend who lived in a flat where the bath was in the kitchen. They'd have to put a board over the bath to use it as a worktop and take the board off to have a bath.

Very old houses didn't even have bathrooms. The bathroom in my house is not a proper room, it has partition walls and was separated off from one of the bedrooms.

LOL! I'll be sure to tell my dad that the next time I visit his council flat.

They are the very worst IME! :p ;)

Converting the "holey" downstairs into a bog & upgrading the bathroom to "heroic/spa" status was often one of the first signs of a former council house owner gong-up in the world.

I've only ever lived in one house that's had more than one toilet - a huge 5 bedroomed Victorian semi owned by some friends. There was a bathroom on the first floor and a downstairs toilet.

Maybe we should have a poll. :)

i don't think i'd like a seperate loo. You never se them in hotels, do you?

when you're in one it's like a little cell, and they're always really dark. I've never lived in a house with one. And generally i've only lived places with one bathroom. You just ask if anyone needs the loo before you take up residence in the bath. But then, when i was little we'd nip in for a wee even if someone was in the bath. Not a poo, though.

The place we're buying has a bathroom with a loo in and a seperate toilet upstairs. I feel all smug now, thanks to this thread. Best of both worlds

I would love to have a downstairs toilet in addition to my bathroom upstairs. Very handy if you are a person who needs the toilet a lot (as I am).
