Even though it's penalties in Florence (after extra time) i'm a bit suprised that Walter Smith didn't bring on Kris Boyd. Especially with a tiring Fiorentina to try and get that away goal. Drama to come in the shoot out.
I ain't no fan of them. But who'd have thought it that Rangers* are through to UEFA Cup final- their first final since 1972 when they won the old Cup Winners Cup!! To be fair I thought that they'll sneak it on away goals. But they win 4-2 on penalties after extra time.
So the bears emulate Celtic's acheivement 5 years ago in getting to the final dance. Can they go one better? And that very unlikely quadruple is somehow still on! What a last few days for British footie! I assume that Scotland will potentially have a third representative in the C.League due to the Ger's efforts this season.
UEFA Cup Final - Wednesday May 14th - City of Manchester Stadium (aka Eastlands)
Rangers vs Zenit St Petersburg
*What were the odds of them getting to the final, yet alone winning it btw?
Rangers were very adept as a team, and although many have said it Cuellar was a titan. Thomson was key too, and Broadfoot kept providing an alternative attacking outlet.
