This is him 3 years later. all 60kg of him !!!

we have a bernese and i would like to add that they are really the bestest dogs ever. big softies, the lot of them :D

ours deals with our two cats and new basset in his stride, he's fucking ace.

My boyfriend brought home some marrows from work yesterday (he's a landscape gardener) and my dog went berserk when she spotted one. She started barking and backing off.

She did the same the first time she ever saw a banana.

Weird.

I'm hooked on them. I joined a Berner club and everything. They' re so striking that i'd never get bored of looking at him. perfect tri-colour markings. Lived til he was 11 too ! That a long stretch for Bernese !

Aww :)

He's lovely!

I was scared of dogs for years after being bitten by one ... but I'm over it now and I like them :)

can't believe I've only just seen this thread...cheers for bumping Velouria :)

some beautiful piccies on here.....all just making me more and more desperate for us to move into our new house where we can have some furry friends :)

He had a stroke recently, I posted on here at the time as I was on my own. He's better now than he has been for ages.

Very strange!

Glad to hear it :) Hopefully Mouse will be with us for that long she is now 8 months

my dad was the same. he never liked dogs since being bitten as a child. we always had cats when i was young - never a dog.

when he got remarried his wife had a labrador and my dad fell head over heels for the mutt. quite a changeround

well, most of the streak household puppies have gone, only two are left and we're keeping them both...

apologies for big pic...

the sparkly eyed bitch is hannah. initially she was going to be the only one that got kept, because she was blatantly the prettiest and the one with the best personality from a few weeks old. she's chaos on wheels!

the moody looking one with the funny ears is thomas. he was born with a hernia, so he wasn't going to be sold until it was fixed, however now it has been we've become so taken with his put-upon expression and general similarities to our oldest whippet that he's staying.
