fookin' hell. bigger than me!! imagine that jumping on the bed in the morning
i think in the future my cats and i will take to locking the bedroom door (mind you, that size of dog could probably just steamroller straight through a locked door  )

Amber (now sadly departed) the standard apricot poodle as a youngster.

Amber again at the age of five showing her proud gun-dog heritage.

oh god, don't let Phototropic see that pic, he really wants to get a bernese

Well he should. In had a few dogs but this was my first Bernese. They are the most loyal, loving, and with out a doubt the most strikingly gorgeous dogs you'll ever see. The temperament (obviously if treated well) is fantastic and mine displayed almost human qualities. Brilliant with kids. If your out walking him loads of people will stop you in the street.

Not cheap though and you must look for a good breeder. I know if Phototropic wants to know. They require a lot of looking after tho. more than any other dog ive had.

But if he can get one i guarantee they will be inseperable.

Unfortunately Charlie died about 5 months ago....and im still absolutely
gutted. we were best mates, went everywhere together. :(

hang on a sec - am i converting this correctly? i make that nearly 9 and a half stone!!
is that correct?!

No he was just over 8 stone. I dont know what the conversion rate it. But he was big even by Bernese standards. Almost St Bernard size. Huge. Im 5'9 and his shoulders were just at my waist level !!

sorry to hear that! he does look like a lovely dog. we don't have space for a dog at the mo, or for the foreseeable future, but when we're older we'll definitely get one. some negotiation needs to be done as to size though ... since i put a limit on the number of dogs he's allowed, Photo thinks that getting one really big one will be good value :D
whereas i judge it by the 'jumping on the bed in the morning' test - ie. will i get a scary awakening if the dog leaps enthusiastically onto us each morning? i'm not a particularly doggy person tbh and big ones scare me

:( sorry to hear that

It is likely that I am over ten years away from being able to support a large dog!!! When I do though it will priobably with a German Shepherd be any luck.

have you ever met shirl and wolfies wolfhounds?

i've seen pics!!!
i think we'll need to get a whole new sofa just for the dog, if Photo gets any of the breeds on his wish list ... there won't be room for me, him and the dog on ours! :D
