Seinfeld thread

What's it like? When I go, I wanna go on the Kenny Kramer tour that he does - the real Kramer that is.

Also, "oh yeah? Well, the jerk store called....they're running outta YOU!" :D

I made sure I visited the outside set for Monk's coffee shop when I was in the big apple:

Ditto. When I went to New York about six years ago I actually did make a point to find the kitchen that the Soup Nazi was based on.

He's got a small chain in NY called "The original soup man" now. I went to the downtown one a few years ago.
Anyway, good soup, average bread. But you got an apple or banana too. And a little branded chocolate. I mean wtf?!

I have a few favorites but one of the funniest scenes was when George was working for the Yankees and tried to get fired by dragging the World Series trophy behind his car. The manzeer episode was funny too.

I dug out the DVDs earlier and watched one, The Apartment, where Elaine almost moves into the flat above Jerry's.
Jerry: "I am the biggest idiot."
George: "Hey, remember who you're talking to here."
:D

Bump!!!

I recently saw the episode about "The Move" and I think it's one of the best, so much going.... Kramer as "The Assman", Fusilli Jerry and "stopping short".

The episodes around that time were all class.

Never liked it.

Tried a few times to see if there was anything I was "missing".

What is weird in my case is that, whenever it is quoted, or whenever anyone starts relaying the plot of an episode to me, it always sounds funny second hand - always like something I would appreciate.

This thread included - indeed, the soundbites on herehave made me smirk to read them...

...and then I remember that whenever I actually watch it, the funny concepts, the surrealist situational amusement and the pleasing non-sequiters I hear so much about are all completely ruined through being delivered via the most face-chewingly hateful actors/characters.

This is how I feel about it. Every so often some friends frantic enthusiastic talk of it make me take a peek again.

But. . . meh.

What am I missing?

Bubble-boy, soup Nazi but favourite was the take-away chicken one. Where Jerry and Kramer switched rooms cos the neon lights were driving Kramer mad. But Newman and Kramer kept on secretly eating the chicken cos it was sooo good. :D

Loved Newman too...what was the one where he was stashing the mail and Jerry delivered it for him?

'The mail just keeps coming and coming...it wont stop'

They're meant to be hateful. That's the point. If they were lovable it would be shit. That's why Jerry is everyone's least favourite character: he's almost likable. George is a great character but you wouldn't want to know anyone like that.

My favourite moment is still the look on George's face when he realises his fiancée is dead and he's got out of the wedding. A whole series spent building that one up.

George wins hands-down. One of the best comedy characters ever created, and his parents are the perfect accompaniment to him.

Got around to watching the whole thing a while back. Not all of it has aged perfectly, and of course IASIP took the "sitcom where all the characters are cunts" format and raised it to whole new heights, but pretty enjoyable overall. Then I tried watching Curb and just found it unwatchably bad after a bit. It's weird, I think I tried Curb ages ago and couldn't see the point, then went back to it and enjoyed it, then went back again and was just back to "why am I watching this?"

I think possibly my favourite plotlines that I couldn't see mentioned on here were George as O'Brien of the Aryan Union (it was about 2017 when I was watching it, so felt oddly timely), and the Cheever letters.
