I just hadn't mentioned soup nazi cos I thought everyone else would tbh.
I'm surprised how many people don't remember the Soup-Nazi.
It is very useful to have a New Yorker around to explain the in jokes.

Ditto. When I went to New York about six years ago I actually did make a point to find the kitchen that the Soup Nazi was based on.
I've never seen it
But I love Curb...
Never liked it.
Tried a few times to see if there was anything I was "missing".
What is weird in my case is that, whenever it is quoted, or whenever anyone starts relaying the plot of an episode to me, it always sounds funny second hand - always like something I would appreciate.
This thread included - indeed, the soundbites on herehave made me smirk to read them...
...and then I remember that whenever I actually watch it, the funny concepts, the surrealist situational amusement and the pleasing non-sequiters I hear so much about are all completely ruined through being delivered via the most face-chewingly hateful actors/characters.

They're meant to be hateful. That's the point. If they were lovable it would be shit. That's why Jerry is everyone's least favourite character: he's almost likable. George is a great character but you wouldn't want to know anyone like that.all completely ruined through being delivered via the most face-chewingly hateful actors/characters.
