I think 'Rise of the Footsoldier' was the most violent British film I've seen in a while.

Not a pleasant watch at all.

i don't know if i could watch it now. that rape scene, then the boy's suicide. really really upset me that did. i remember coming out of the cinema crying my eyes out.

i used to be in a band with a guy who, on their final album, made a 'sound collage' piece by layering recordings of the boy being raped's cries and moans. just looped for about six minutes with various effects, timestretching etc added.

It sounded really unpleasant.

didn't exactly trouble the top ten
