Scrambled Eggs

Eggs aren't that bad when done in the microwave. You have to do it for 15-20 second bursts, ensuring you whisk it between bursts.
That said, I do prefer them done in the pan.

But I find that's much more of a kerfuffle than doing them in a pan - buttons to press, doors to open & close, taking dish out, putting it back in...

Standing by a pan for a couple of minutes, idly stirring with a wooden spoon with half an eye on the pan, half an eye out the window, listening to the radio, time to sip a cup of tea... much easier.

I didn't even know you could microwave eggs.

It's hardly that tricky to clean a pan - we have non-stick pans in this century, you know. We had them in the last century too.

i have never cooked them as an adult, prefer an omlette - but my confession is that i like my scrambled eggs dry. not as in rubbery (blech) but as in cooked all over.

i do not like wet eggs. i'm the same about omlette - cooked on both sides please.

:(:(

I know it's all personal taste etc etc and it's what people like to eat but I don't get why people eat scrambled eggs that are overdone, they should still be 'sloppy', but not too runny that they can't hold their shape.

simply put.....

2/3 eggs in a left over chinese container (clean plastic) milk, put lid on!!
shake till it starts to come out of the lid, add knob of butter
1 minute microwave, put bread in toaster
'bing' open microwave stir vigourously, another 40 secs
(add cheese now if you want.....)
wait for toast to pop, butter, 'bing' another stir, add to top of toast!
simple, and the best scrambled eggs, less than 3 minutes, 1 dirty plastic container, but most importantly the lightest, most fluffy eggs you will ever eat! (shaking and stirring does that!)

never had better eggs from a pan, and everyone who i have cooked for has said i do great scramled eggs

Deny-er = muppet

Ime it's because most people wait until they're cooked fully on the pan before taking it off the heat but don't realise it's still cooking after you take it off.

Yep. Take off the heat before they're done, letting the residual heat finish them to perfection.

this post alone confirms (within an instant) how narrow minded Urban is!! very few poeple open to any sort of change! all thinking they are liberal, but wont consider using a microwave, so heaven knows how they would be willing to change anything in their life, if that is their limitation....................
pity :(

I like my nuked eggs:)
I agree if you over do it they can go rubbery but I don't over do it :p...plus I don't have to have a stinky egg smell hanging about my kitchen.

Christ, I bet you're a sucker for the Betterware catalogue.

Nobody's denying the convenience, but scrambled eggs out of a microwave are a different beast to the creamy wonderfulness of perfect pan scrambled eggs.

no, but i have had a load to drink and may well regret my enthusiasm about this subject, but if you refer to my 1st post, i haven't had better pan scrammbled eggs!
i'm well old enough for my mum (etc) to have cooked me pan eggs and still not as nice (also a fat cunt and know a lot about any combination of unhealthy irish/ulster/english/scots fry ups and i stand by my method!)

may well have some for breakie

do not like raw egg.

Love scrambled eggs but interestingly hate omelettes......do you know M & S make microwavable omlettes? WTF?

You're such a snob Sheo
;)

Most of the time I'm happy with safe overcooked scrambled eggs as part of a breakfast. But sometimes only the most creamy, luxurious scrambled eggs will do.
