Scotland: West Coast vs. East Coast.

Crap. Attempted marches by potential arseholes?? Get a grip.
I'm not going to argue about it, I know far too many people who are very relieved to move away from the west coast to somewhere where religious/football bigotry just doesn't exist(cept in some very small minded orange arses)

Hubby knows folk who moved to NI to avoid bigotry, so you maybe need to open your mind/eyes or associate with nicer people.

Anyway, you coming to the meet in Edinburgh on Saturday(26th)?? :D

The lodges are still there, I made it clear Glasgow had a much bigger issue regarding it.

I don't 'associate' with anyone I don't wish to. I live in a scheme, there's lads in both Republican and Loyalist flute bands on my scheme. Should I ignore them cos of their backgrounds? None of them have ever been anything but civil to me.

No, that's crap. Bigotry and sectarianism are a much bigger issue. The whole new government is based on aw sectarian head count. Religous head counts are part of life over there.

I should be at the drink, but dunno what anyone looks like. :hmm:

Fedayn, you're remarkably wrong if you think Glasgow's sectarian issue is comparable to any other city in Scotland. Fuck it, I hate football and had (at the time) an Aussie accent, and when I lived there I still received threats and insults for being a hun and a fenian (i.e. I wasn't wearing the football strip they had on, so I must be the opposition). For some people in Glasgow their hatred of the other side seems to be their sole purpose in life.

I've lived in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Inverness. I'm going to give both sides a score draw. Both have got decent big towns for a night out. Both have got cute little villages for dirty weekend stays. East coast is colder, West coast has more midges.

Trickier one for me is North v South. North's got better mountains and scenery, but with the Seven Stanes along the borders the South's now got better dedicated mountain biking facilities. South's got better beer, north's got better whisky.
