Scotland vs Italy

So if I was to pick up a copy of the Record, the Herald, or the Sun in Scotland, they'd have moved on from the subject, and there'd be no headlines involving the words 'Anger', 'Fury', or 'Robbed'?

Um, yes:D There you go sunshine;) Read these and admit you are wrong:D

http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/

"McLeish calls for end to abuse of referee as focus turns from A to B"

He admitted: "I was numb yesterday and I feel very flat today. It's a beautiful game, football, but sometimes it can be quite horrendous as well. But we have got to move on and quite quickly."

And the most intelligent man in football has some complementary things to say about Scotland too

And lastly, I will be supporting England tomorrow night, if only because I'd miss the pantomime/circus that is England if they didnt qualify.

Well its not possible to riot at Wembley after a match as fans are corralled out but wasn't there mass riots in Trafalgar Sq after England's exit from Euro 96 or am I confusing that with Italia 90:confused: Remember the time that German cars were smashed in central London

I also like the way you qualified it with home match as we all know the record of England's travelling support:rolleyes:

so, you give the number of arrests compared with the home crowd at Hampden but now we're supposed to take into account anywhere else in the country/world when England may lose.

There's logic for ya.

Do you try to be an utter stereotype or does it come naturally?

Here you go again JTG with your classic passive aggressive behavior:eek: Somehow I don't think you are laughing mate;)

Honestly, you seem like a good guy but whenever there's any mention of Scottish fans or Tartan Army you get so incredibly chippy. Are you sure you're not Scottish:confused:

Maybe you can explain why you've decided I am 'anti - England fans'. Don't think I've ever been 'anti-England fans', not in the way you've been 'anti-Scottish'. It would be fair to say I'm not keen on racist, violent, mysogenistic England fans. Nor do I like the English red top media, nor many English football pundits. You on the other hand seem to really dislike Scotland fans cos they wear 'See you Jimmy' hats and like a drink:rolleyes:
I could say the same about you vis a vis English supporters

Yawn:rolleyes: Nowadays, fans who go to matches are probably the least likely to riot after defeat (see Englands '90, '96, '98 and 2000 records for confirmation of that) due to the combination of alcohol bans and heavy policing. Big screens and bars in town centres have been the focus of voilence, al a Marseilles.

Your wee dig actually quite funny cos I'm probably about the least Scottish Scot you will ever meet....while, over the course of your anti-Celt jingoistic rants, I couldnt help but build up a picture of you as a typical boring, pedantic, repressed, middle class, middle England cricket loving twat:p
That's the 'net for you eh:D

Some Scotland fans are twats.

Some England fans are twats.

The difference is perception most of the time

yes there are exceptions of course

Ive come across some apalling wankers at home games, less so at away games, but there are always a few

Go to a Scotland away match and a blootered racist wanker in a kilt uriniating in a doorway = funny

Go to an England away match and a drunk racist wanker in a ben sherman urinating in a doorway = call in the riot cops

Agree with point above rgarding city centres / cheap piss & bother.

Bandwagon jumping big game hunters seem to appear when teams are doing well, yet seem less interested in a chilly drizzly qualifieer trip to sayb Moldova in November.

so justify your comparison of 12 arrests out of 52,000 at Hampden with the 'likely' outcome if England had lost a similar game. You can't have it both ways - compare like with like

Sorry, I can't help but point out clearly idiotic statements. If you can't see what an idiotic point it was then there's no hope.

But if we are going to talk about those away from the ground - Japan 2002, Portugal 2004, Germany 2006. Thousands of people following England, trouble free. But feel free to continue dragging up stuff from ten years ago to support your contention that England = riots.

edited to say .. I came back with an equally pathetic insult which I'd like to retract and in attempt to end this petty, pathetic playground squabbling, take this opportunity, as a 'stereotypical' Scot, (MrS P is still laughing at that one!) to wish England the best of British luck tonight.

Zoltan is absolutely right, there are good and bad on every side.
Actually JTG, I didnt really mean to imply there would be rioting at Wembley, but you must admit, if Croatia are awarded as dodgy a free kick against England as Italy were on Saturday and Eduardo scores to knock England out, my guess is that there will be quite a few arrests across the land.

Anyway, JTG, until the next time somebody praises Scottish fans and you take offence........;)

he he :D

believe it or not I don't actually give much of one about England.

Anyway, till next time :p
