Scotland vs France

I was watching in Glasgow, in the bar, in my kilt. Amazing atmosphere, 200 people singing and dancing.
That was about the best performance I've ver seen Scotland put in. Scoring against Brazil in '98 was something but... wow.
It would be gary Caldwell too. When the chips are down, look to the Hoops.
that said, Barry Ferguson was outstanding. Who was it said he didn't have the quality for this game?

Missed the first half cause I was looking for the William Wallace the original is now called the Tudor Rose and the Subsequent William Wallace is now called the Gunmakers. Thankfully the barman in the Tudor Rose told me about the Rob Roy where I made it for the second half. Full of pissed up,sweating jocks and for a bit of nostalgia we had a couple of choruses of We hate Jimmy Hill.............

It was also a bit nostalgic cos when I first move to London from Scotland I lived in Paddington. After the Rob Roy I went to the Royal Exchange and who was behind the bar but the geezer that has the Priory now apparently the priory and the Exchange are now sister pubs.

I've just about sobered up by now, missed the first half hour as the pub was packed and couldn't get in, amazing atmosphere and a quite amazing result!

Gerrintaethum. Is anyone likely to be going to the Rob Roy on Wednesday?

IIRC the chain/pub group that owns the Rob Roy used to have a couple of pubs one in London Bridge and also the William Wallace(RIP). Does anyone know if they have any other pubs? I looked at their website but it appears to be under construction or its probably not renewed its server fees.

I've checked the telly listings and I can't see any sign of the match being screened. According to my channel guide on ntl, even BBC1 Scotland aren't showing it. It's the usual shite: Neighbours followed by the 6 O'Clock News. :(

Had a root around and found this.

Then you have to switch channels to One for the second half.

They wouldn't dare do this sort of thing if England were playing and Sky didn't have exclusive rights to the match.

I don't get BBC2 Scotland on ntl, only BBC1.

Indeed, all the kids telly is switched to BBC 2 for the duration down here.

Fucking ridic wtf is their problem.

Time for an strongly worded letter to the Beeb.....though what I'm likely to get by way of reply is something quite patronising. Still, it's worth a try.

Petty minded and vindictive English nationalism mixed in with a bit of xenophobia. C'mon lets all hear it. We hate Jimmy Hill......................

That may sound far-fetched but there is a grain of truth to what you say. The BBC is an Anglo-centric broadcaster. Hell, even the Welsh don't get to see their side play on BBC, they have to put up with the England matches (NI too).

Depends on what you see the responsibility of the BBC to be. If you think it has any need to show more popular programmes then of course it should be showing England. Like it or not, more people want to see them purely because there are far more English people. I don't spend my time complaining that Lincoln City don't get as much coverage as Manchester United.

So are you suggesting the Scots would rather watch England than Scotland? That's a wee bit far-fetched don't you think?

Your Lincoln City analogy is a bit weak considering Lincoln are two divisions below ManUre.

I'm suggesting the BBC which covers all of Britain has a predominantly English audience, so more people want to watch England. In the same way a lot more people want to watch Man U than want to watch Lincoln city.
