Scotland & Euro 2016

starfish

No dialogue. Just plot.
Ill be really honest. Im fucking gutted we didnt qualify & yes largely down to the fact that the rest of you did. Typical of us but we did have a very tough group. Tougher than all of yours (except the Rep but you only got in via the playoffs & we had a better record against you in the group).
So what are our options at this time. Do we ignore the tourny with a Presbyterian staunchness & punish ourselves by watching repeats of Take the High Road & City Lights or do we just say ah well thats the way it goes & embrace the tourny with the excitement & vigour that you others will. And who shall we support? Me, i care not for either Irelands & England are the international equivalent of Rangers/Sevco/TheRangers to me so i guess it will have to be Iceland.

i dont know and cant be of much help but i LOVE Scotland's football team and am always over the moon when they qualify for any of the 'big' tournaments. To see the national team stand there, singing Flower of Scotland, brings joy to my heart. Gutted they didnt qualify but whenvever they do, and they arent playing Ireland, I'm in FULL FORCE supporting them!!

My BIL (Aberdeen fan) is supporting Iceland, the Tartan Army lot I know are claiming to be ignoring the whole thing but imagine they won't be able to help but watch it.

However given a few of them live in the south of England, I imagine they'll be hoping for a speedyish exit by England given how unbearable it gets down here when they're doing well. (I'm not into football but it really does get too much.)

22 men (and increasingly women) kicking a ball. Have you ever considered watching a sport for the enjoyment of the sport? Radical and zany I grant you but give it a go.

Since England haven't really done well in a tournament for almost 20 years nothing wrong with that!
I don't know if it still happens, but what I used to hate was about a month before the tournament all of the made in China stuff with St Georges cross on it appearing in all of the supermarkets like another version of Christmas with disappointment and defeat instead of presents, and disappointment and defeat

It did pop into my head as Russia scored last night that England were evoking Tucker's Law, a Scottish creation.
