Scolari sacked

With a bit of luck Everton can put a decent run together and finish above Chelsea and Arsenal :D

What a great league table this would be, which is given club form not that unlikely at the moment:

1. Villa
2. Utd
3. RS
4. Everton
5. Arse
6. Chelsea

You'd get better odds on Kevin Keegan taking the reins at Stamford Bridge.

What about Roy Evans....one of my fav's of all time...quality...

My money is on Hiddink / rikkard though if I was a Chelsea fan reckon Sven would be who I'd want...

I can't believe there's serious reporting that Greenback could be returning to Chelsea.

:D

According to Sky - it's Greenback or Hiddink. Even the players at Portsmouth thought Grant was shite - they used to call him BBC, which stood for "Bibs, Balls and Cones" because that was pretty much all his coaching repertoire consisted of.

For his sake I hope he doesn't lose 5 games or more, which seems to be the Chelsea limit.

Actually the standard that causes them to sack their manager seem to be getting lower and lower - their most successful manager was sacked for not winning everything, the Baron was sacked because John Terry fell over, and Scolari was sacked because they are only seven points behind the league leaders in February.

The next guy will probably be sacked because he wasnt able to qualify for the UEFA Cup.

WTF!

The BBC are running a story about how chelsea are in talks with hiddink.

So the picture they put on their homepage is of zola and clarke, naturally.

Then in the actual story...

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/c/chelsea/7879782.stm

there's a quote in a feature box from zola's "lawyer", and another picture of them both despite the fact that they're not even mentioned in the story until right at the end.. after hiddink, ancelotti et al.

why?

Because its a slow news day....

you're probably right. It just seemed a little incongruous "chelsea open talks with hiddink"... next to a picture of zola and clarke.

Saying that a couple of months back I heard Garth Crooks (not to be mixed up with Brooks, as I often do) refer to himself as a Journalist, rather than a football pundit.

If he's been at the keybourd, who knows what might be writing....

"From the start No one really seemed interested in the actual probability of Scolari succeeding in a European league, with all the attention going towards the fact he was a World Cup winning manager. Christ, Avram Grant could have won the World Cup with the players Scolari had to work with. Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Rivaldo and Roberto Carlos were amongst the superstars Scolari had to pick from, before we even mention the mighty Kleberson! No seriously, who the f*ck couldn’t win the World Cup with that team?

That aside, nobody seemed arsed to look and see whether previous South American World Cup winning managers made a success of their careers in the domestic leagues of Europe.

No South American World Cup winning manager had made a success of their career in the domestic leagues of Europe, not a single one. Yet Chelsea were favourites to win the league because their new managers won the World Cup with some of the most talented footballers of the modern era!

Not much attention was paid to the fact he had five years with a supremely talented Portugal side, yet massively underperformed with them. Losing to Greece in the final of Euro 2004, when they were the host nation, losing in the semi-finals of the World Cup two years later, before only reaching the quarters in the most recent European Championships. In fact, in a career spanning 26 years, he has just 15 trophies to his name and some of them were from bloody Kuwait! What was the hype all about?

So Scolari has been sacked and Chelsea are on the look-out for a new manager. If United win our game in hand we’re 10 points clear of them.
Chelsea were our only real threat for the title this season and their decision to sack their manager now hands it to us on a plate. Cheers Kenyon, you w*nker"

Nah, we've already handed it to you on a plate. Chelsea will improve now, just you see, but still won't be anywhere near United at the end of the season. Right now, I'd settle for third.

All I have heard today while out and about around here is blokes discussing Scolari and his sacking, Get a fucking life you sad Essex chav tossers, it's only football.

what's sadder? talking about football in the football forum?

or coming onto the football forum to moan about people talking about football?

:D

you're just feeling left out stobes.

Russian FA have 'given Chelsea permission' to speak to Hiddink.:hmm:hardly likely to say no when Abramovich pays his wages :D

this is too fucking funny...'how to ruin a club the roman abramovich way':D

It all started while Mourinho was still in charge and Abramovich started to undermine him by employing the likes of Greenback and Arnesen. It's been a total disaster ever since really...

"Total disaster" is a trifle over the top, no?*

"Bit of a wobble" might be more apt. And a Chelsea-bit-of-a-wobble would suit pretty much every other club in the world tbh; rich as fuck, very good players (some injured currently of course) still in the CL, 4th in the EPL etc etc etc.

*see Luton Town, L££ds Utd et al.

you can bring back ian porterfield if you want!

edit: ooops! having looked him up on google, maybe not.

Lets just hope Abramawallet gets sick of not winning anything and pulls out, takes his cash with him and Chelsea revert back to being a below average Championship team like they used to be ....... we can but hope !!
