Seems like a good place to put some favourite Scientist dubs. Here's two I draw for.

Black Romeo Dub (Black Romeo - Derek Screechy ~ Al Jr 7")

African Girl - True Persuaders (Writers 7")

I prefer the King Tubby mix of See A Man's Face, grittier and heavier:

Love both of those other two LPs. My favourite Scientist track from the Greensleeves LPs is from Meets The Space Invaders - Dematerialize:

Better to me than the original cut of it he did on 12", although the extended dub on the flip of this is pretty great, but not on YouTube:

The Scientist mix is a mix of a later cover of See A Man's Face - a different track basically. I did dig out the original vocal piece a while ago - cant recall who did it - and it isnt that great really - all the more reason why its a great dub!

Yes, a later inferior cut. Horace Andy's early cut is great, Neville Tate's version is the best by a long way :p

Ah, just realised you mean the vocal to the Scientist dub is not that great. I've never heard it and don't know who it's by, so we do agree :)

Got a bit of a thing for Scientist dubs to Johnny Osbourne vocals. What about the dub the He Can Surely Turn The Tide, titles Plague Of The Zombies on Scientist Rids The World Of The Evil Curse Of The Zombies

The Greensleeves LPs are best. Meets the space invaders, big showdown (with Prince Jammy), heavyweight dub champion and Rids the world of the evil curse of the vampires are all top notch early 80s Channel One rub a dub classics.

I've got a Scientist factoid: the name is not to do with science but means someone who does obeah/magic aka 'science', I guess the idea being he does magic via the desk.

I've been playing this one a lot this year (vocal and dub in the video)

Hearing those vocals after years of just checking the dub versions was always a mind expanding experience...
