scenes from films you never, ever get bored of seeing.

for real spods, that scene where he opens the door to Gandalf is almost EXACTLY true to the illustration. Stood the hairs on my neck did that because I realised someone had done his research incredibly well.
The two guys who did those famous illustrations in the printed versions of LOTR were also hired as artistic directors on the film. Haven't you been watching your extended edition bonus disks?

Aragorn's speech at the black gate.
"Hold your ground, hold your ground! Sons of Gondor, of Rohan, my brothers! I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me. A day may come when the courage of men fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship, but it is not this day. An hour of woes and shattered shields, when the age of men comes crashing down! But it is not this day! This day we fight! By all that you hold dear on this good Earth, I bid you STAND MEN OF THE WEST!"

The wedding anniversary scene in I Know Where I'm Going. Mind, it doesn't feature any swooping CG cameras or "badass" catch phrases.

no. But I have been to the little gallery where most of that illustrative work hangs and met the curator/artist. Bonus my discs.

The buried alive scene in Kill Bill 2 where she remembers her training with Pai Mei then breaks through the coffin accompanied by that wicked sound track.

Also Bills Superman story. "Superman is unique from all other superheroes in that he doesn't wear a disguise, he takes his disguise off. Clark Kent is the disguise. Kent is superman's critique of humanity."

In Cheech and Chong's 'Up in Smoke', they smoke the comedy size joint, Cheech freaks out and Chong gives him a months supply of acid, thinking it's downers. :D

Haven't read the whole thread, but in case nobody's mentioned them already the standoffs at the end of 'The Good, The Bad And The Ugly' and 'Once Upon A Time In The West' are cinema gold.

Or when they're in the kitchen and start snorting Vim that's been spilled on the countertop...

I know on another thread you posted something about Flesh Gordon 5 pages in and then complained about how you shouldn't be expected to 'read a whole thread but this:

The scene in the movie where the girl snorts Ajax never gets old either. :)

Is 5 posts after I mention exactly the same scene.

Clouseau: Of course I'm alright. I'm... examining the wax.

Clouseau: Have you taken a sample of this wax?

Police Chief Lundallah: Wax is wax!

Clouseau: See, this is where you are wrong. Wax is NOT just wax. In this case it is a clue. Domestic wax, Belgian Wax, French Wax, English Wax...
