I knitted all 3 of mine :)

i'd love to be able to knit a scarf, however my knitting skills only extend to a square of wool to make a gonk in primary school aged 6 :(

and i can't wear wool, gives me a rash :(

Hmmmm, well, i tried to kit myself a scarf, and i've decided i don't like it. so i'm giving it to my partner's sister. My partner has a handknitted grey scarf, that was long enough to touch the floor with both ends when draped round his neck, so i stuck it in the machine on a hot wash and it's a reasonable elngth now, and it's gone all soft and lovelly.

i need to make myslef a scarf, but i can't decide on wool and a pattern atm.

I've got 2 scarves by Georgina von Etzdorf
both were presents

The friend who bought me the first one bought one for herself as well and told me that were £225 each

I thought she was joking

*feels a bit bad about the fact that they're both rolling around at the bottom of a drawer somewhere*

£225 for a scarf? I don't have single item of clothing that costs anywhere near as much as that...

Well, my boyfriend has just commissioned me to make him a long, drapey, bright red hand knit scarf out of recyled sari silk fibres. And i can't wait

I bought Mrs.Griff a Hermes silk scarf in Harrods for Christmas a few years back, and I think it was about £180.

No chance of splashing out that much this year. :(

how much?

mind you.... y'know... cost of wool has shot up lately hasn't it!?

the £225 one (which is incredibly beautiful) is made of 100% viscose* and it's kind of velvety

I cut off the label and the label with the brand name on it as i hate ostentatious labels

I'll dig out the other one, which still has the label attached, and put it on the recycle your stuff thread - a donation to Survival International will secure.

I have about 20 scarves and I don't need them all

edited to add, I'll do this the week after next due to hectic work load :)
