Say something nice about Americans

Their penchant for changing and shortening the language. Today I read a reference to all the citizens of Europe. They are now known as "Euros". Shit knows what I'll get when I change my sterling at the bank. Maybe a few Germans and Dutch people.

You should be grateful for the shortening. It used to be "Eurotrash." ;)

They could probably turn Vancouver, Toronto etc into Baghdad, Mosul etc, but there's a hell of a lot more wilderness in Canada than there is in Iraq. It would take more divisions than they've got to hold onto the second largest country in the world. And we're armed, just like they are. ;)
 
Americans have a better understanding of American history than British people have of British history.

I wouldn't say that's the case at all. What's taught in school isn't necessarily the way things happened. For instance I live in an area rich in Revolution history and we'd grow up learning about it had the fighting been colonists against regulars but since it was colonists against colonists we don't. The way Americans want to think about it is different than how it was.
 
I was reading one of my text books and they listed the major accomplishments, dates and nationalities. All the new ones were from the US!!!!

I wish that the problem with the teaching of history in the British education system was the interpretation of what is taught.
