:) Because its my choice to have it, isnt freedom of choice still relevent nowadays,,
and that fucking flour additives,, i dont want that in my food either,,,
fuck me,, what next?
But who cares? It's not giong to do you any harm, and it's not as if there isn't enough crap in our food anyway.

Personally, I just have a hard time giving a fuck.

It seems a fairly harmless thing to add. (I'd like to know more about the downsides though).

I suppose it might provoke a 'don't worry about eating your greens, there's folic acid in the bread' attitude. Which would be less than helpful for the very people who already have trouble eating healthily.

:) But i do care,,, and alot of other people do(obviously not on Urban)

Like i said,, its freedom of choice,, put it in specific bread which is clearly labelled, but dont put it every loaf,,
coz i dont want it!
Is that too hard to understand,, I want a choice! I do not want it enforce on me

I wonder!

I wonder, I really do.

Which friend of who in the government will be getting the contract to supply all this folic acid??????????????

Of all the things the government is doing to get wound up about, I'd say this comes pretty far down the list, to be honest.

Are you really bothered about whether or not there's folic acid in your bread?

:D I have pmt today, which makes me bothered about stuff, which on other days i wouldn't normally comment,,,
My argument is,,, that they make decisions all the time about food,,,and add stuff,,, and i reckon, that they are wankers and shouldnt be allowed to do everything that they want to do, for the benefit of us,, which is why i say, that i want the choice, and dont want it enforced,,,

yep,, i said that no so long ago,, who's on an earner,, same with everything to do with the gov'ment,, they just seem to live celeb lives and only think about money, and getting back handers,,,

It's a matter of picking your battles IMO, the government does a lot of shit things and yeah, this folic acid thing is a bit of an irritation, but compared to a lot of other stuff, it's fairly benign and pretty insignificant.

When I click this tread I was sure it was going to be about the new mental health rules which mean some people can be forced to take medication, I nearly pissed myself when I read what this thread was actualy about.

on the subject of breadmaking - how do u get vitamin c powder - its in the recipe for our breadmaker but i can't seem to find it...

From your local pharmacist.

They may not have it on display as it can be used as an adjunct to injectables, so you'll probably have to ask (and make it clear you want it for breadmaking :) ).

It's supplied with dried easy-bake yeast - if you buy allinsons you don't get the added emulsifiers :)

Yep, but I've found from long experience that adding a smidge of vit C powder to the flour on top of the near-homeopathic dose included in the yeast helps the bread no end! :)
