Sausage in batter or Saveloy?

The bit that put me off (one of the bits) was the thick red plastic skin.

That's one of the things I actually like about saveloys - does that make me a wrongun?

TBH it wasn't that bad. I just wish I'd brought two battered sausages instead. Still - lives and learns.

3 years since this thread was started, my position on this issue remains unchanged - I like both, and will generally order a saveloy as a pre-dinner snack for the journey back from the chipshop.

Potato dogs ftw. Its like a hot dog sausage with a hash brown wrapped round it.

In the states Taco Bell do them as a breakfast thing and the has brown bit has been dipped in maple syrup. You can see the calories jumping up and down as you eat them.

The skin was too hard, didn't like the taste - texture apart from the skin was ok, but honestly don't get the fuss - give me a chippy sausage any day.

I prefer battered saveloy to battered sausage or unbattered saveloy, but prefer battered sausage to unbattered saveloy.
