I wonder what battered savaloy would be like? I wonder why you can't get them?

You can, dammit. I've had several.

e2a: Mainly in Birmingham but definitely a few from a chippy at the junction between Essex Road and New North Road in N1.

Both but if it had to be one it owuld be the saveloy they're fuckin great

I don't see what difference it makes to people what animal products are in a meat product, it's all fuckin dead animal??

They contain a fuck load of salt and saltpetre though (that's all I could find out about the mystery that is the saveloy).

What? An overweight paunchy bloke in an overtight jumpsuit, a pale imitation designed to cash in on the post Star Wars rush.

I like them both too! I had a saveloy recently and it was fuckin lush (maybe a slight overstatement but it was nice!). Husband was somewhat disgusted tho. I'd probably go for a saveloy over a battered sausage these days as the quality of sausage in the battered sausage these days is generally lamentable - i.e. worse than the saveloy. Saveloys are a bit like frankfurters really. Maybe it's just the name that puts people off.

I don't remember the chippies having saveloys in the north when I grew up - anyone know if they are a southern thing??

Saveloy, every time. Mmm, salty garlicy goodness.

Are saveloys garlicy? Never really noticed that they were.

I'd rather have a battered sausage anyway.
