Lynton & Barnstaple Railway? They've got a mile or two of track on the old narrow gauge line at Woody Bay.

There's also the Discovery Music record shop in Barnstaple. The proprietor can usually be seen at Exeter St Davids on a Sunday or at gigs across the south west. Memorable character.

He's been wearing that same outfit every day for at least 30 years. Glad he's still going.

That sounds like it might be a nice walk to do each day… then the bus back to digs

If you're travelling by bus in that part of the world it's generally better to get the bus first and then walk back.

Mortehoe - Bull point - Lee - Ilfracombe is one of the best bits of the SW coast path IMO.

I'll second this, absolutely gorgeous part of the world.
We stayed at the Bull Point Lighthouse a couple of years ago and really enjoyed the coast path walks in that area.
