Saudi cuts employees arm off.

I knew an Irish guy who'd been working in Saudi. He told me he went on holiday to Eritrea (this is before everything went to hell in the latter country) and decided that it was like going from living with children to living with adults. So he got a job with a bank in Asmara and married a local woman.

But the thread is about one employer, not the state.
Anyway, sanctions never hurt the powerful, only the normal people.
Look at North Korea - the Kims would be long gone if it wasn't for the American government's stupidity.
I don't blame the American people for this, just the various governments.

I think you're wrong about that, but yes, it's American arrogance and aggression in wanting to get rid of DPRK that has made it more 'dangerous.' The stupidity is the escalation towards something they won't be able to control. The small, poor state is portrayed as being provocative in its relations but it's the other way round. You don't have to be supportive of such an extremely authoritarian government to see that.

I'm amazed at the racist comments here.
Some Saudis are bad news, especially the nasty abuser mentioned by the OP, but not all Saudis did this, nor would all Saudis support it.
Saying that, I'm aware there are problems in that country, but some isn't all -so please stop with the bigoted comments.
The EDL and other sets of bastards would love this thread, and some mindless sod would probably cut and paste half the posts onto Stormfront or some other shitty racist site.

The Kingdom is a state run by an elite, for an elite, without any form of "democratic" brake to the behaviour of that elite. Elucidating the crimes of that elite isn't racism, you liberal. It's class analysis.

How do you think that an employer gets away with amputating a limb from an employee, if not without the implicit sanction of the state to treat non-Arab Muslims in this way?

I survived the shopping trip, and the wifey taking my monster into the play area.
Luckily for me, there was a technology area, and my computer scanner needed replacing.
I have a new one - It is mostly black, so I'm not racist in my choice.

what about if it's a joint effort shit done in tandem with a mixed race person?

Smelly, but could be fun if you were sexually attracted to the other person .... in quite a kinky sort of way.
I think you'd have to wear rainbow gimp suits with red and black flag armbands and pictures of Thatcher on the right breast - just to be really inclusive.

more than 40% of Koreans have the family name Kim, you're talking genocide. Racist that!

The Saudi State . . . currently carpet bombing Yemen, happily manslaughtering as many pilgrims as they can by dropping cranes on them and engineering stampedes that kill thousands.

Then using 'God's Will' as a defence for their lack of accountability and callus disregard for human life.

Bit of a moot exercise, but, if there was something called a 'vile-o-meter' - the Saudis would (just about) come out as the vilest regime on the planet, atm.

Scum does not even begin to describe this state.

Then throw in the most obscurantist, literalist and reactionary religious order you can imagine (the Wahhabists) and . . . . well, you can see whats going on in the Middle East.

BTW ... I'm making a distinction between 'the regime' and 'the people'

Its the regime that I find reprehensible.

(Its a shame I have to point this out)

But a 'regime' is people, ok perhaps a minority, but one that very often has a reach into the majority. It's like Nazi Germany, it was never a small minority it was a very large minority and grew, millions of Germans fought for the Nazis.

People can be complicit by ignorance, fear, greed, cowardice, silence and apathy. This is what happens in places like Saudi and happened in Nazi Germany. It will never change. People are in base fucking stupid.

Can I add the flogging of a 74 year old Brit to the Saudi list
Children of British pensioner sentenced to 350 lashes in Saudi Arabia call on PM

Agreed. You break the law, you pay the penalty. Break the law is Saudi, and Allah, do you pay for it. But a wrinkly, 350 lashes...hmmm

It's not really cheering on law breakers being punished by harsh means or fair and more someone who expects to be somewhat above the law because of their social standing being punished in a brutal manner which elicits mirth.
