So all the arming of the Saudi's by the US and training (if I remember correctly) by the RAF has left Saudi Arabia as just easy pickings?

Saudi Arabia are safe from being attacked by other neighbours (eg Iraq, Iran, anyone else) - primarily because of their defence treaties with the US - and have enough hardware to show off a bit and maybe deal with small scale insurgency.

However they couldn't really attack anyone, especially not Israel.
