Same old scousers ....

Really?. How many of west ham's squad are internationals then?. How many of them will be playing at the Euros?.

ahem... if I may...

neill, mccartney, pantsil, ljungberg, bellamy, gabbidon, collins, upson, collison

+ parker, green and faubert have played for their national teams in the past but aren't at the moment

bowyer played for england didn't he?

ashton is in the current squad although he has not made his debut

noble, ferdinand, tomkins and sears have all played for the u21s or u19s

have I missed anybody?

oh yes, kieron dyer. forgot he played for us.

yeah, forgot solano, quashie (:)) and camara.

that makes it about 20 odd doesn't it?

At 33, I'm at the age where I'd probably be hanging up my international boots now.

I'd need to concentrate on my club career, you see?

green, bowyer - 1 appearance
wright - 2 appearances
neill, collins, gabbidon, mcartney, spector, bellamy - not at the euros or any other tournaments
upson - 8 appearances

lundberg is the only recognisable international there and he's past it.

stop moving the goalposts. you asked how many internationals there are in the west ham squad... there's your answer. why does it matter if they play at the euros or not?

And I'll be sure to tell bellamy he isn't a recognised international, he'll be really surprised.

:D

It was a two part question. Wales give international debuts to kids ffs.

Hyypia used to be class and but is getting old and the fact that carragher has no pace makes him look that little bit worse. He is starting to get embarresing now.

I miantain reina is very very overrated nut am fully prepared that he did something nasty to me in a past life as everyone else seems to rate him. Mascherano isnt half bad but not better then alonso sissoko and give lucas a couple of years and him as well. I dont get why yu lot collect defensive midfielders its silly.

Babel should be good in a couple of years but he is very green still.

How many players have liverpool got that will play in euro 2008 then?

alonso, torres, kuyt. Think thats it.

I think Barry's the kind of player who might benefit from playing in another country, without the break-neck bust your balls style of the English league. It's a shame that the money discourages players like him following the likes of Platt, Waddle, Walker, Lineker, Hughes, Ince, etc and learning a different style of play. For example, he may not have played much whilst in Spain, by I think Jonathon Woodgate developed his game a lot at Real Madrid. I'd also like to see the likes of Rooney, Carrick, Richards and Joe Cole try it, but they won't whilst their wallets get filled here.

To get the thread back to something like on-track, I think this is a valid point. And I think the England team is the poorer for the lack of experience in foreign climes (Hargreaves apart) that our players get. I'm not sure that wages are the real issue .... after all, the top players could command similar levels of wages in Italy and Spain at least .... but it's more a feeling of security amongst them while they are living in England. It's a shame.
