That's not a Saab!

That's a Saab! ;)

I reckon we've got better weather for it, though - blazing sun isn't great.

Nice try, but no cigar. Cruising the coastal highway in LA in a '76 Cadillac Eldorado beats a Golf convertible in cloudy Cheshire every time.

one gizmo the cars borrow from the planes is the darkpanel button to turn off all the dashboard lights except the essentials.

turns off satnav mainscreen (but you still get the direction arrow on the info console), radio, all dials except speedo, etc. its useful at night so youre not distracted

a very useful feature imo

Agree-I had a Toyota with a dash that used to be lit up like a Christmas tree but fortunately had such a button. As you say, makes night driving much more relaxing and increases your visibility.

and what a lovely day it was for it today shirl

my golden rule is top down = music on

Don't worry, even some bastard pulling my hair out by it's roots would make me listen to Any Answers.

I was hoping for some nice drives this weekend, roof down, headscarf, shades and music up loud  Now there's a snow forecast for Sunday

:D My car usually turns Asbo-types' heads as I drive by, but they can never quite place the music blaring out, as it's often the Archers theme tune :D :o
