I'm off to Granada in Spain in early November with my GF. I suggested Ryanair and she said that she was not prepared to fly Ryanair because of all the horror stories she had heard about them.
Apparantly they left a friend of hers sitting on the stationary plane for four hours in Italy because of a malfunctionon the plane.
Ryanair: If it all goes to plan, you'll get there ok.
Of course Long check in queues, arsey check in staff (you can't blame them, he possably has even less respect for his staff than he does for customers), aural annoyance continually throughout the flight & plastic seats are the norm.
If it goes tits up for any reason, you're fucked.
(this is the company that left a young family standed in some godforsaken Norweigen airfield for 3 days after a cancelled flight). And they do seem to go tits up a fair bit compared with Easyjet or others

Yes I know. Wasn't booking it for myself, though I do use them and Easyjet (since Easyjet started flying to Shannon).
But... when you're skint, your mother's dying and all your family live there and you're unemployed (talking about b/f here)... then cheap airlines are a Godsend.
(Btw, IMO, Easyjet are fine. I use them a lot and I've yet to have a complaint - even after a cancelled flight - they were textbook nice and sorted everyone out with a hotel room within a couple of hours)
