Advert in today's Guardian:
Wtf That is awful, truly awful
Looks like an attempt to court controversy.
They get extra publicity, then apologise.
Effective but cynical.
Can't believe they ran that ad tbh
It makes me want to fly by Easyjet just to spite Ryanair.
oh dear! no need for that....both airlines are shit in their own unique ways
It doesn't make any sense since Muggers is not an airline executive anyway.
Funny though !
saw that this morning... fucking classic.
clearly o'leary is still smarting over having to apologise to stelios a coupla weeks ago
Why are people taking offence?
Ryanair have just had to pay Stellios some money for slandering him over punctuality. I guess this is their response.
Who is? Have there been complaints?
Well I assume from the comments above, some of the posters here are.
Don't know if there've been any complaints.
This is URBANNNNNN!
I despise that O'Leary fella. He is just an arrogant twat with no redeeming features.
Oh, right. I thought you meant in meat space.
I'm not really reading any of the above posts as taking offence, but maybe they are.
Is that arrow right in his nip or.....no just off it a bit I think. However I shall have to stare at it for some time in order to be really sure
Btw I found it in poor taste rather than offensive but as I find the cunt O'Leary bloke in poor taste it's kind of par for the course really.
Plus I would always chose Easyjet over Ryanair.
The fabled wit of the Irish seems to have been transformed into a sledgehammer of low-blowery in O'leary. I still laughed though, simple soul me.
Oh aye, O'Leary's an arsehole and no mistake.
But I don't see why a picture of another arsehole is in poor taste or why, as the thread title suggests, it's a "new low".
Easyjet might get the hump at being associated with the bastard but I won't be losing any sleep over Easyjet's woes either.
Basically, fuck'em all!
And it's one of my favourite pics of Muggers. The fist and tache are so obviously Hitler that it's hardly subtle, but it still makes me laugh.
For me it is using that image in an advertising situation is in poor taste but I concede that one cunt using the pic of another cunt shouldn't exactly be unexpected!
Does this make us enemies?
As I always choose Ryanair over Easyjet.
They're cheaper and more efficient in my experience.
Says volumes about the state of display advertising in the Guardian that their ad manager and editorial board let this through.
I would never, ever fly Ryanair on the basis of O'Leary's staggering levels of cuntery.
It says the Guardian is broke. What is it about the airlines? Are they all run by absolute cunts? I can't fly everywhere on Flybe.
Why on earth shouldn't they allow it?
I used to say the same and I'd certainly never use tham on business or for anything important. However I do usually take advantage of one or two of their offers each year. Last year I went to Gothenburg to visit friends for £7.99 return inclusive of taxes! Both flights were at reasonable times and flew pretty much on schedule. I wouldn't have gone otherwise so I'm afraid to say that's about the price of my principles regarding O'Leary.
Trouble is the fuckers have got Europe pretty much sewn-up. Ryanair is bigger than all of the European national airlines and if you want to fly to Dublin they can be hard to avoid. Easyjet have pretty much got the Greek Islands (direct from the UK) to themselves apart from the charter flights, and between them they cover pretty much the entire continent.
I have flown on 5 occasions in my life. Until low cost airlines I had never been able to afford to fly. Ryanair got me to Italy for £28, return. At that time there were no baggage costs. £28 wouldn't get me very far on the train.
