Russia v England

England sponsor Nationwide has said it will not take the usual 50ft flag of St George to the Russia game. Apparently a gathering of 3 or more people around foreign flag is considered as an illegal demo in Moscow! So much for "democracy" !
if I 'gather' with a friend outside my front door, the police have the power to disperse us and bar my mate (if he lives outside the area) from returning to St Pauls inside three days

I'd have thought that was repressive rather than undemocratic.

And they are taking the red stars from the tops of the Kremlin buildings and replacing them with double eagles.

Anyway, there is nothing democratic about Moscow. It is run jointly by and in the interests of of legitimate big business and the mafia!

Does anyone know where you can get tickets for the football?

Sky News reportng 5 England fans hospitalised in Moscow, though whether that's through the cold, the vodka or the violence is as yet unclear..

I do feel sorry for english fans abroad, they get the shit knocked out of them but still get tarred with the hooluigan brush whilst other countries are 100 times worse.

Although people can go a bit the other way. There are always plenty willing to oblige in these situations.

If England win I wonder if there will be a Sun bus driving round the streets of Moscow tonight with a load of page 3 girls in nothing but furry hats and Ra Ra Rasputin blaring out from its speakers with a big banner saying 'This one's for Litvinyenko you murdering Cossack cunts'. Has the Sun got the bottle?

This article makes me laugh ...

Just two quotes:

"If you want to get an idea of what Russian hooligans are like just go to YouTube and type in: 'Russian football hooligans'."

"Ivan used to be a Russian football hooligan ... 'The only real English hooligans are banned. They sit at home drinking beer and watching on TV. But they're no longer in the stadium. It's unfortunate.' "

I personally think they should have people signalling in semaphore on every hill between here and Moscow to keep me updated.

I'll get my mate in Zaragoza to light a bonfire each time England score.

Bloody hell that is a shit line.Which window shall I look out of for the bonfire?

eta: 5live, that is

Believe me as someone overseas I would be a rich man if I had 1p for each time I've felt like nuking the BBC for their cuntish, stingy, blocking of commentary for overseas people. It's so petty it's just pathetic.

5 Live. They're doing the commentry on their mobiles. Sounds like the fucking 1930's.

Might try talksport online.

They had mobiles in the 1930s????

No. But they had scratchy lofi broadcasting tech. The audible effect is exactly the same. Stick the radio on and hear what I mean. 'orrible.
