Russia threatens military-technical response to Czech missile shield

I can completely understand Russia's response to this American initiative.

Twice in the 20th century they were invaded from Europe in two immensely costly wars...

I think that had a lot to do with their presense in Eastern Europe - creating a buffer zone between them and the rest of Europe...

Planting a missile system in Eastern Europe is deliberate provocation against this nation.

Just as much as the CIA-sponsored "colour revolutions" in recent years...

Any action like this will lead to a vengeful Russia because they will freak out at military interventions near their border

But the missile defences placed in Europe are not aimed at Russian missiles. The bases in Alaska would be used to defend against Russian missiles but Alaskan bases are not in dispute here. Like I said before, I think Russia feels threatened not by possible future wars with America, but by American expansionism around the globe, which missile defences in Europe would help to achieve.

Given that the published US intention is,

'Full Spectrum Dominance' is the key term in Joint Vision 2020, the blueprint the United States Department of Defence will follow in the future, from which these extracts are taken.

'The ultimate goal of our military force is to accomplish the objectives directed by the National Command Authorities. For the joint force of the future, this goal will be achieved through full spectrum dominance - the ability of US forces, operating unilaterally or in combination with multinational and interagency partners, to defeat any adversary and control any situation across the full range of military operations.

The full range of operations includes maintaining a posture of strategic deterrence. It includes theatre engagement and presence activities. It includes conflict involving employment of strategic forces and weapons of mass destruction, major theatre wars, regional conflicts and smaller-scale contingencies. It also includes those ambiguous situations residing between peace and war, such as peace-keeping and peace enforcement operations, as well as non-combat humanitarian relief operations and support to domestic authorities.

The label full spectrum dominance implies that US forces are able to conduct prompt, sustained, and synchronised operations with combinations of forces tailored to specific situations, and with access to and freedom to operate in all domains - space, sea, land, air and information. Additionally, given the global nature of our interests and obligations, the United States must maintain its overseas presence forces and the ability to rapidly project power worldwide in order to achieve full spectrum dominance.

My bold;

any country that intends to defend it's national interest has to come into conflict with this.

Whether this specific system is aimed at Russian missiles or not is irrelevant; the US goal to militarise and dominate space has to be opposed by the Russian state.

Should have headed right at St Basils, along Varvarka Gates and Slavyanskaya Square to Lubyansky Proezd, to The Chinese Pilot basement club. Really nice in there.
