russell brand - is it just me, or?.......

Brand is one of the best stand up comedians I've seen, this tends not to translate on the TV for some reason.

Some of my friends were going on about him. I got confused, as they have traces of northern accents, mixed up my plosives and thought... what on earth is Kate Moss doing with that guy who does the horoscopes? :o

Kenny Everett was awful too come to think of it. You could just tell by watching him what an utter cunt he must have been in real life. Sort of like Jim Davidson in a way.

Surely you mean a Cupid Stunt!

Anyway can't see the similarity myself.

Really don't get how anyone could find him funny. He is SO annoying.

And why he is incapable of speaking in a normal voice. He just constantly shouts and shrieks at 100 decibles. I have to turn the channel over as soon as he comes on, he gives me a bloody headache and makes me want to throw things at the telly.

I just think it's amusing the way he's reinvented himself as this sad Steve Tyler/keith richards style rock-clown. An ex of mine was going out with him a year or two ago, met him a few times. Just a fairly boring guy. Doubt he'll exactkly be appearing on 'this is your life' in a year or two.

Russell Brand isnt fit to lace Kenny Everett's shoes.

It's depressing tbh - look at the mid-late 90s comedies... Spaced, Jam, Brass eye, League of Gentlemen, Black Books etc... The years of Bill Bailey, Simon Pegg etc etc... Now we have JLC, Jimmy 'Smug Fuckwit' Carr etc. Turgid.

An apt description of Carr, I'd add Walliams and whoever the fat bald one is to the list as well, whom I have hated ever since their "Mash and Peas" days, and who somehow have survived and made money out of not being funny at all, and I cheered when Pegg punched him in Spaced.

Why do channel 4 insist on forcing shit presenters on us? They are relentless in their efforts to give them all as much air time as possible.

"we will make them popular g'damn it!"
