Sigh. Plus ca change. Wrong tactics, wrong team selection, wrong preparation. Gatland is incapable of taking this side any further: he's coached a side packed with quality players to be able to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory against SH teams. Woo hooWhy the fuck did I even bother watching that? Gifted them tries and played the game to their strengths, sickening.
I know my last two posts say otherwise but I'm not even that bothered, it's just so fucking predictable.
Hopefully halfpenny is going to be ok because if Priesty starts at 10 next week he can do without the pressure of kicking.
And why are we doing treble training sessions? The players looked fucked at 50 minutes. We're going backwards.

I thought the score flattered us a little. The penalty try at the end when the game was lost...Enjoyed the game v NZ, they clearly had too much class but a good fist of it and a respectable scoreline. Good try by May.
Plenty of improvement needed to challenge though.
Yeah, no disagreement there, started brightly but nothing in the 2nd halfI thought the score flattered us a little. The penalty try at the end when the game was lost...
The kicking was poor and we got flattened in the 2nd half.
Well done, Ireland. Awesome result. You have a fucking amazing coachSo I'm more stunned than happy. That was our best victory over a SH side ever. We were never going to lose that game. We controlled it completly. But we can legitimately claim we have at least 10 injuries. Slap my face somebody.
He was the best player in a Welsh jersey by a galloping country mile today, 1927For all that you disparage him he brings a physicality to openside that Tipuric can't match. Big, aggressive teams who swamp the breakdown take a lot out of Tipuric, and there are fewer more effective defensive 7s than Sam. I'd never leave him out of the team as it stands: he's world class.
The All Blacks kicking was atrocious, with both kickers. England's line-out looked pretty solid, but understandably they tired a bit in the second half. The first 15 minutes were brilliant though.
This is an awesome match if you're neutral, like me.
If I was Welsh or Australian I'd be having forty seven fits, mind.
I suspect you have arrived at this opinion from reading what the NZ press are saying. This apparent bias by northern hemisphere refs will be a constant theme from NZ in the run up to next year. It's boring before it even starts. That was the worst performance by a ref I've seen in a long time. NZ should have won that by 30 points.

You're badly wrong on this one
Toby's failure to kick on from his incredible early promise is a worry. He's not carrying nearly enough in a pack that's severely lacking players who can make the hard yards. I can't help but feel that Faletau would make a better blindside but is being used at eight because there are literally no other options. Baker could step up but it's far from guaranteed - he's still super green and not yet ready for international rugby, imoHe carried Lydiate and Faletau who were both anonymous yday.
Fair do's to the Irish, what I'd do to have Schimdt in charge of Wales.
What's the point in training like that with nearly a year to the World Cup? It makes no sense to me, I think it's too far away and only sets players up for injury if they go back to their clubs fucked tired.Gatland was banging on about preparing our fitness to match the Aussies for the full 80. 3 visits to the cryo chamber this week and an absolute beasting in training, apparently. Yet as you say we look fucked at 50 and the decision making fell apart.
Indeed. Gatland's answer to everything seems to be to up the physicality. I'd prefer there to be a more balanced focus on skillz and decision-making because we often severely lack in those departments. What's the point in training like that with nearly a year to the World Cup? Lol. You don't exactly need to have the gift of foresight to work out that Wales will have brainfarts in the last ten minutes of a match against the AussiesI was right on the fact that we would lose due to poor decision making in last 10 minutes!

Good article on the Gwlad frontpage. The utter, dribbling folly of the WRU's strategy writ large:
