Football. Rugby is a game for upper class cocks.

I did enjoy watching the conceited French get beaten by the Argies last night though.

Hahahahaha - you fucking French losers.
So you're a self-confessed upper class cock. :D

I shall be at a picnic, but will probably sneak off and try and catch the second half of the football. I will always prefer to watch football over rubgy, but the World Cup is a rare occasion when I'l watch the rubgy.

Rugby union does, however, feature brawling, stamping on heads, gouging and the like. But they're OK because they're all part of the game.
I agree. And the same is true of football, where they seem to have completely outlawed the good hard physical tackle, which is one of the greatest skills in the game. Nowadays, if an attacker gets touched they fall over as if they've been shot and get the ref's decision even if the defender got the ball.

The way i see it they do; often fouls get given when very clearly the ball was got first. If the man is then subsequently got, falling over the leg that has tackled, then I can't see how that's a foul, but it still gets given a lot.

I've tried with rugby, I really have, I watched France last night and England this afternoon, I played it when I was younger and always get slightly caught up in the 6 Nations, but it's just an inferior game to football imho.

I appreciate it's about strategy and momentum and strength but you so rarely get proper open, flowing movement unless one of the teams is crap. Plus the penalties seem as much of a lottery as in football and they so often determine the outcome of the game. Kick, kick, kick for position and points.

No, in the end it looks like footy but flatters to deceive.:(

Rugby (in England) is middle class shite.

nonsense

prefer football myself but the above view is provably wrong, especially across the entire south west of the country

And football has an increasingly middle class following (not that there's anything wrong with being middle class).

It would likely be because the referree thinks it was taken second.
In part because the attacker goes over so dramatically. Should the ref always give the benefit of the doubt to the attacker? I don't think so, because I don't think he would in the area. You can't change the rules according to where the tackle takes place.
