roy keane scarpers!

Conspiracy theory no. 1:

Keane's position in the team untenable after his recent outbursts. The rest of the squad hates his guts, he's injured, past his prime and pulls in a vast weekly wage - a wage ManUre need to entice someone like Ballack to Old Trafford.
So Fergie - justifiably - strips Keane of the captaincy because of his outburst and Keane strops off saying 'stick it up yer bollocks'. A deal is subsequently cut to leave each side with honour intact - Keane gets his Multi-million testimonial and the thanks for his work with the club while Man U get him off the payroll and keep the team united.
Man Utd have been pretty cunning here, I reckon.

i reckon
knowing that untd wouldnt renew his contract
he wouldnt have a chance to win anything to end the season on a high
so they decided to call it a day

After his rant on MUTV its no real surprise, it was definitely a question of 'when' & not 'if' after that! The biggest surprise to me is that Roy Keane & Alex Ferguson didn't fall out like this years ago, tbh.

Still, whatever his faults, Im sorry to see him go.

Now he can bugger off back to Cork, put on his black suit, white shirt, get bladdered and start kicking the fuck out of people again.

heh I know an Irish lad from Cork who was full of Keane stories - most started like that. Or his Dad getting his cock out in the pub and telling everyone what his contribution to Roy Keane's career was

Was an excellent player at Forest, he was Judas to some fans after leaving following an infamous 'badge kissing' incident just before he left but he was never going to stay with us with Man Utd knocking......

what he did to Haaland was inexcusable, and although i realise he was one of the best midfielders the premiership has seen, his ego never really appealed.....My United supporting friends are in total shock :D

What's Cambridge or Scunthorpe got to do with it?

cmon get your facts right...Cambridge aren't in League One ;)....think you've got me confused as one of the 'Forest fan in denial' breed :D.....

You're having a laugh aren't you? Roy Keane might be a prick but he's not as much of one as Dennis Wise, and is an obviously in a different league as a footballer.

Hook , line, sinker. But always worth the thought of how Dennis's career would have looked if had worn a United shirt and played for the Republic iinstead of Chelsea and England.

Max Ping (who models his own game on Keane circa '99 :p ) is pretty much on the money, I reckon - Keane's effectively been sacked, hasn't he?

Not got much time for Keane, but it's a sad way for him to go. Bet he's fuming.

But this makes me laugh - last action for ManYoo was at Anfield, where his foot got broke in a tackle from Lil Luis Garcia, possibly the most lightweight player in the league.

Decline & Fall

:D

can anybody explain to me how keane is on (widely reported in the press) 90k a week - whereas ferdinand is 120k? apart this being obviously obscene anyway surely doesn't help morale at the club when the captain gets paid substantially less than one of the regular players? or have I got my facts wrong?

Good riddance I say. Useless, self-important little thug.

Maybe now we can get back to rebuilding the team without his constant bitching.

Fuck off up to the Scottish backwaters you wanker.

Here we have the Radio Five rant line in print. Ignorant, cowardly, maliscious and utterly dishonest.

'Useless'? According to Alan Hansen (and he's an x scouser) 'the best ever Premiership player'.

'Self important'? Keane ethos was to put the team first: best example the CL semi-final in Turin where he dragged Utd back from being 0-2 down after just twenty minutes and continued in the same vein (marking Zidane and Davids out of the game ) even though a booking meant he personally would miss the final. The contrast with Gazza the English hero and wife beater who never won a medal couldn't be clearer.

'Bitching'? Keane did on the pitch on off it what the fans did in the stands and in the pub.

'Wanker'? Not something a complete gobshite like you would ever say to his face or whisper behind his back. Instead you emote your deluded visciousness here.

Fraud.

:D :D cunt has never even been at Old Trafford

5Live reporting that Ottmar Hitzfeld claims he's been offered 'a job' at Old Trafford. What the job is and who offered him it we don't know yet.

This turns out to be a mis quote - the reference was to 2002 when Fergie was resigning. Sorry and all that. :)

S' okay, I'm enjoying the fun anyway. :D

But seriously, Fergie should be next. Clear out the dead wood and start again. You know it makes sense.

If your talking about 'dead wood' then it is Scholes, not Fergie, who is next. Utd will need 3 world class players to replace Keane&Scholes. Fergie knows who he wants the question is will/can the Glazers fork up the money.

With Fergie's recent record in the transfer market, I'd be surprised if the Glazers do want to back his judgement, particularly when it comes to midfield replacements.

That assesment would surely not apply to Mikel an 18 year old Nigerian playing out of Norway who Fergie payed 4 million for in the summer and Mourinho has since described as 'liquid gold'.

Hence the subsequent attempts by Chelsea to hijack the deal by threatning the player and his family in Nigeria. An extraordinary case now in the hands of FIFA. What FIFA do is of course moot.

As such public displays of conspicious gangersterism is de rigeur with Russian robber barons apparently.
