Roy Keane: New Ipswich Manager

I expect Ipswich to have a squad of 52 and most of the Ireland B team there within 12 months

If I'm honest, I'm fucked off about this. Ipswich are showing ambition and a will to succeed, whereas little old Naaaarwich are turning into a retirement home for ex-players.
I think the appointment of Gunn was a desperate last throw of the dice for old Delia and we're doomed to go down.

To think, I thought we'd go down when we lost Wesley Hoolahoop to you.

They'll go down because they haven't been good enough on the pitch - far too inconsistent and, imo, too many loan players coming in and a lack of focus from at least the last 4 managers on bringing people through from the youth system.

But, what the hell. It's only bloody football - the best place I've seen it this year was in Denmark where it was a joy to watch a relatively little club with a stadium that holds about 12,000 play really good football and no one was calling for anyone to be sacked because it was sustainable. I'm kinda hoping that an away trip to Carlisle on a Tuesday evening in January is what the "we're a big club really" crowd need...

As for Ipswich - I dunno, how much money has he got to play with? And will this chairman screw them up like the last one did? I'm not sure - people I know aren't all that happy about him and his commitment seems to be up and down. If it works then great - but for how long? Fulham or Wolves? Or Leeds?

Don't like his attitude?

What? Winning? Competitive? Fierce?

I'll have some of that behind our players, thank you very much.

I am thoroughly looking forward to seeing some pride in our performances.

Before the news broke I would have happily 'settled' for Curbishley. But Keane's appointment is amazing. I think he is the perfect man for us.

No, he is an aggressive, violent thug who's got a big mouth and throws his toys out of the pram when he doesn't get his own way.

However, if he continues to produce results such as today's, I may have to have one of my trademark fickle changes of heart!

Maybe a kick up the arse from someone like him is what the club and players need. Can't argue with the publicity this week, makes a change to see us all over the back pages.
Let's hope it doesn't come back and bite us on the arse...

Wouldn't rely too much on the result yesterday, three nil against a particularly nervous and disorganised cardiff who seem unable to cope under pressure is not a good way to judge the team ... however, three nil is three nil, so well done anyway.
