Rowing

Lord Camomile

Yipchaa!
Stunning backdrop for this Games' rowing.

Difficult conditions though, lots of wind. A Korean just rowed into the next lane!

Both Redgrave and Cracknell have said things along the lines of "yes, it's pretty I suppose, but what happens on the water is what's important" :D

Today's rowing has been delayed by two hours (so far...) due to weather conditions. Suspect there will be some very unhappy athletes and organisers down there.

Yuuuuup.

Suggestions Mon and Tue won't be much better, could lead to cancelling rounds. At the drastic end the whole thing could be cancelled!

I probably enjoyed the many rowing qualifiers and heats more than the gymnastics today. GB were winning just about anything that was there. I was offended when they didn't.

Postponed again due to some moving air. Why don't they use some proper row boats instead of these ridiculous matchsticks which obviously aren't fit for purpose.

Wasn't the weather in London absolutely spotless? Now in Rio and the rowing is off because of the wind and its pissing it down! :D

Victoria Thornley and Katherine Grainger got a silver in double sculls. They were ahead almost the whole way but the Polish team had paced themselves really well and just caught them and pulled in front right near the end.

Very exciting race though.

I was well knackered watching that one. Did Inverdale really just ask her if this silver means more to her than the gold she finally won at her home games?
