Round-the-world cyclist finally has his bike nicked

So to continue...and discounting hanging castration and flogging...what do you lot consider to be the appropriate sentence for nicking a bike ? £15 fine ?

A clip round the ear'ole from Dixon of Dock Green, then taken back home for a spot of the old man's belt, I'd have thought. And no soda pop for a week.

I remember when it were all fields round here.

Ironic maybe not funny as such.

On a serious note it says a lot about the state of this country today. That this guy can cycle through the most dangerous poverty stricken areas of the world and then come to this country and within four hours someone steals his bike...speaks volumes about our society.

In a lot of the parts of the world his bike would be safe. Thats' because if you are a fucking tea leaf then you get put in jail , flogged or have your hand cut off.

Poor bloke. Bet he wishes he'd never set foot in our green and pleasant land.

Makes me ashamed to be English.

Your reasons are flawed as to what is wrong.

In some of the poorest parts of the world, people don't nick stuff as they generally have a greater respect for other people, would get caught as they live in very interconnected societies, and realise that if they nicked that bike, the owner would probably lose his means of making a living.

Peoples possessions aren't luxuries like that blokes bike, they are your means to put food into your and your families mouth. Losing them can be catastrophic.
